Chosen or marauder new player question

I just started playing again and have tried all sorts of classes. Now that I'm ready to dedicate myself to capping out a character I need advice. I know chosen = tank marauder = mdps. I like them both maybe chosen marginally more. I need to know who has more solo pve sustainably. Like who has less down time since I'll be just grinding crap mobs to level with SCs thrown in. Due to the current state of RvR XP it seems it has gone down the pipes compared to a few months ago when I was playing. Does chosen have horrid down time while grinding or are they pretty fast? Is marauder hands down millions of times faster? I'm at the point where I just want to get a toon to cap and enjoy RvR.

Mara is the best/better pve farmer, demolition is a cone AoE that can hit multiple mobs at once, subvert strength gives back ap on crit so that you can continue to spam demolition, gift of monstrosity gives self sustain and lastly you have 2 morale in your morale 2 that gives ap for even more sustain
