An error occured

Hello, I'm trying to get back on this game after having not played it for years! (so sad to see the official go away).
I have followed all the download steps and when I open the RORlauncher and click connect i get "an error occured" with the following:

Error starting: System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The operation was canceled by the user
at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
at RoRLauncher.Client.Handle(PacketIn packet)

Have I done something incorrect? I am not very good with computers..
