Will DPS WP ever be a thing?

I keep hearing that dps WP on this server is garbage and that it simply doesn't have the tools other classes have. From not having a strong healing debuff to little burst and such and less than optimal tactics.

Is it true though? I mean, I understand that the healing debuff it currently offers is terrible and that it's bread n' butter attack Bludgeon gets outpaced in utility by Sigmar's Radiance while it has about the same damage, not to mention that its execute feels like it hits like a wet noodle.

However, does it make up for these shortcomings by being significantly more resilient than other DPS with self healing and having the capabilities of spreading heals? It can also be argued that one brings a tremendous group dps buff with Prayer of Righteousness and Divine Justice tactic. A chance for a free 258 spirit damage (before mitigation) for everyone seems underrated.

I guess wrath tree could use some buffs like Guilty Soul tactic immediately beginning its damage as soon as its applied and Soulfire being instant cast rather than 2 second cast time. Soulfire being instant is a change I think should be in effect anyway considering that any damage caused would cancel any detaunts to begin with. It leaves the WP with the option to take less damage from a group or deal more damage.

Other than this brief foray into Soulfire, what are your thoughts? Why is dps WP considered trash?

That dream is dead. All melee WP are now melee DoK's or they bit the bullet and play easy mode backline spam bots. Mine is currently on the shelf until it gets its reworl/buffs but Az has a lot on his plate right now.
