Re: Crowdfunding's a no no
I have a feeling this Eternal Crusade will be a big flop either way. Gearing up to be nothing more than Planetside 2 with a Warhammer skin. Shallow, repetitive and forgettable (and im a founder).

I'm a founder too, got the Captain's pack.

Re: Crowdfunding's a no no
It feels more like an extension of the Warhammer 40k Space Marine multiplayer, and that game was already based on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer construct. It's a logical, extensive monetary gain construct meant to only rake in mad dosh. Of course it's going to flop as a decent Warhammer game, but there's going to be lots and lots of moolah. Trying to assess that asset already with the fake promise of an original Warhammer game while already admitting to being nothing like the MMO we suspected it to be made people see through that charade.Barbadian wrote:I have a feeling this Eternal Crusade will be a big flop either way. And yet they will make millions because like Cryptic (Star Trek Online) they have chosen a brilliant IP to serve as a juicy cash cow and made the game appeal to the lowest denominator. I bought the cheapest Founder Pack just so i could dabble in the game as it progresses and fully realize whether it will be worth playing when its done. Frankly im not even excited in the slightest.RyanMakara wrote:It feels more like an extension of the Warhammer 40k Space Marine multiplayer, and that game was already based on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer construct. Re: Crowdfunding's a no no
just saw a early wip video on youtube a few days ago and i really have to admit it reminds me a damn lot of Space Marine... i don't want to say that i didn't like that game at all but the multiplayer (even with the wonderful dreadnought DLC) was more or less.... meh
if this game is just a ripoff of that multiplayer mode then it won't be that much of a success.
but still i think a lot of people might consider to at least buy it and play it a few times since the WH40K franchise is quite popular even for the (lets call it) "casual warhammer players". even i might take a look at it although i'm more into Warhammer Fantasy. So i think it might start rather good but won't be able to stand the test of time... sad but (probably) true.
