login timed out issue

Hi guys, i (was) a massive fan of this game back in the day and i am desperately trying to get it up and running again since i found out about RoR. However, after downloading the game and dealing with a couple of issues, i am now stuck at 'log in timed out'... I have been trying to fix this over the past couple of days but to no avail. i scrolled through the depths of these forums and nothing has given me any joy.

I live in China now so i have to access the game through a VPN. I am also running the game through parallels on my girlfriends mac (ashamedly so).

My brother (who lives in japan) and I both have next week off work and are living in similar time zones for the first time in over a year, on top of that, my girlfriend will be working next week so we would really really love to get back to our warrior priest/slayer team up that we used to run with.

Getting this to work would be a massive consolation after Age of Sigmar...

Hello.

Could you try replacing your data.myp file in the game folder with this copy. You might also need to tinker around with your VPN settings and/or change the server you direct to. The server is based in Europe.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I replaced the file and managed to get it to work on the first start up. But now it's stopped working. i have tried multiple VPNs and multiple wifi locations. Having managed to log in once, i am guessing this is an issue with simply being so far away from the server and having to fight through Chinese firewalls. (even this forum is only accessible through a VPN in China). It must produce quite a bit of lag.

I'm going to continue fiddling around with my VPN settings and hope i can work something out. I'm sure i will manage to get through... eventually.
