Re: 6 man meta
To be honest. I'm a little surprised on the focus of 6v6.
Half of my competitive experience in this game was 12v12. I know I wasn't a special flower because we would face other 12 man's all the time.
(Guess)
Maybe this is because the server pop started low in comparison to live and is growing. So people got used to 6 man's and forgot about 12 man's?
Where live started huge and started to dwindle. I don't know.
You miss out on a lot by not expanding to 12v12. Single target assist trains become less viable but are still viable at 12v12. Can't really use HTL technique's at 6 man without gutting your build.
I dunno I think HTL is fundamental part of the game. Probably just as important as guard is.

My competative experience from live was 18-24 man so.
But yeah i would guess it's people adapting to how the game is. Not much need for full scale WB's atm as there a re very few guilds who can actually field those. I'm guessing it will change alot in t4.

6V6 was always a big thing back on live, moreso than 12v12 (did that even exist?)footpatrol2 wrote:To be honest. I'm a little surprised on the focus of 6v6.

I don't know why you have such a fixation towards HTL o_O against a melee setup, for example, it does nothing - already rendering its use as situational.

I know 12vX existed as well as 8vX. Most of those experiences were before 1.4 however, specifically when WAR first released. There were a number of 12vX guilds on my server for the first year and a half of the game. Best experience of my gaming life happened either with or against those 12vx groups. Those were the days (Robert's Baratheon voice)

I take it you like clowns?
Nice 6v6 vid - that shadow warrior was raging hard. You should offer him a pillow to sit on to comfort all that hurt.

@peterthepan3
HTL was just a trick you could use in your bag of tricks. In a typical 2/2/2 set up in both groups of your 12 man your bringing 4 tanks. If it wasn't heavy magic or range we wouldn't use HTL technique's and adapt accordingly.
You enter a SC, you have 30 to 20 sec's to look at your opposition and adapt super fast. Spec for flexibility have preset tactic slot switches. Maybe it takes an extra 5 or 10 sec's to really start moving if you had to adapt a lot but not a super big deal.
We would even swap gear sets if it was needed. This is when I was doin 12v12 mix and wasn't specifically leading the groups.
I'm not saying 6v6 wasn't a thang. It always was but 12v12 was a thang also and quite popular as it can be seen with other people posting their experiences in this thread.
@magt3001
yeah it was by far some of my best gamining experiences I ever had was those 12v12 groups.
As this game gains more popularity, (as it looks like its doing) 12v12 could easily come back to be a thang again.

Re: 6 man meta
Well come to think of it, 12vX was a thing. A solid amount of my time on live I ran exactly that without realising it, even though the group members and setups changed over the years.
And sync-queue of two 6mans surely was fun as hell
