That said, if you notice that the AP handling isn't correct, by all means, outline exactly how it should work, down to the last detail - without setting it up so that abilities effectively have a 25 AP cost reduction
AP Regen
Re: AP Regen
My Bright Wizard disagrees from this advantageous position of being better than every other DPS class. What you're trying to tell me is that every single engagement you fight comes down to spamming spells back to back without pause to reposition. I'm playing my BW right now and I've yet to notice any AP problems.

Re: AP Regen
As a side note, zealot insta heal is still spammable.
Also, on live we had 2 types of AP pots that we ain't getting any time soon, AP regen on armor/jewelry,ets.
So while I don't remember if you would regen AP during casting, realistically we are getting much less AP regen then on live.
Edit: And again on the side note, I could spam Flash on Chaos on live as well. Including with AM doing his best to drain all my APs. Guess we are back to live, where zealot could spam instaheals forever, DoK could spam heals using mix of AP heals and Soul heals while using chalice, and shaman was a second class healer.

Re: AP Regen
Zxul: That's true, but as I understand it, nothing will be changed on this server for any reason other than to make the handling true to how it was in the original Warhammer. So, if the AP regen is correct for the gear we have now, there's nothing that should be done about it. If it isn't correct, it should be changed.
Having looked it up, it seems that the developers were quite intent that you shouldn't be able to cast forever, nor should you be able to Doombolt for 5AP a cast. I'm really suspicious of the motives here, to be honest.
Edit: I don't much like the idea that Grungni's Gift and Flash of Chaos are spammable, either. Without the live servers being up we have to rely on second hand sources, old articles, vague memories and common sense, and common sense tells me that 1) an Action Point system should mean something if it exists at all and 2) if Flash of Chaos and Grungni's Gift were meant to be spammable, they would not have an AP cost in the first place. I actually made reference to GG and FoC when discussing the AP issue - an AP system which restores AP immediately after you finish casting means that you REGAIN AP when casting both, and there's no way that was intended to be the case.

Re: AP Regen
I think they changed it like it was in the original game. If it was like that in the original game there is no need to change it to something else. Just keep it like it was in the orginal game.

Re: AP Regen
Maybe i'm wrong, but i think the people complaining about that the ap-management is not working correctly atm, are tricked by a mixture of the following:
1. "ap-easymode gameplay" pre-patch leads now to a "feeling" that it is "too hard" or even "impossible"
2. they remember the endgame original WAR with it's higher ap-pools (through renown-ranks), ap-reduction/-regen gear and 200-ap pots
The original war had a similiar bug for a long time. It made it virtually impossible for a class to run out of ap. The moment the devs fixed it, the people had some serious l2p issues and all the ap-reduction/-regen items made sense for the first time...

Re: AP Regen
Yeah. The article I quote on the previous page was released after that patch came out, and it was released in direct response to massive player complaints over the AP system working as intended. I do feel that a similar thing is going on here.
Re: AP Regen
Ap regen right now seems very much like or even exactly the same as it was on mythic servers, like other ppl have stated i think you got to use to healing with unlimited ap.
There is nothing wrong with ap regen.

Re: AP Regen
The special thing about the zealot and the runepriest was always the low-ap spammable flash-heal while they kite people around. Priest and disciple where always the walking fortesses with an independent undrainable ressource and the shaman had his insane speed-tactic + ability (they stacked).
Only the archmage had the short of the stick (regarding healing).

Oh yes, sorry i didn't klick the link. This is the bug i'm talking about.Azarael wrote:Yeah. Re: AP Regen
This is definately not how Mythic made it work on live servers; you still had a slight ap regeneration after casting spells that took more than 1,5 sec. Don't tell me its original because i have played sorceress for years... it was never like this.
