You can't stop people from being sore losers, but maybe a buy-in and prize pool would at least make sure a dropout team doesn't damage the event completely for everyone else?

You could arrange it in such a way that even the lowest ranking team is guaranteed 25-50% of their buy-in price back so long as they play 100% of their matches. The only problem would be finding a trustworthy source to hold the prize pool in escrow.

What you could do insted is create a "prize pool" where people/teams who join could provide items like purple gear, tallies and other high end desirable items that can be distributed to the winners as decided by organizers


Furthermore the devs if they would be willing could also offer special and desirable rewards like unique mounts and armor appearance gear or perhaps even title or special cloak designs to high placing teams

Well.. Random thought of the day. Do the Devs have any plans for the old statues in each capitol city for top renown? Would be a cool prize at the end of each tourney.

I think this could have alot of potential. Especially when paired with a twitch stream and a website of it's own. It has the possibility of enhancing the balance discussions quite alot, with actual gameplay evidence of whatever might be discussed, or a grounds to "prove" certain builds or designs.

A few questions;

1, Other than finding a dead zone in an ORvR lake somewhere and having at it, or getting lucky on SC queues, how are you planning on having organized battles happen? If 2 groups want to fight, they just hope they are the only ones queuing for CW?

2, what type of "win" parameters are you thinking? best of 3/5/whatever system? a single elimination, round robin, or point based tourny? [Points assigned based on how they won(ie speed, efficiency, etc)]


Anything that adds incentive towards a player being more active on RoR is a good thing. +1 to this, and I hope you do well. I will look forward to watching the battles.

I entirely meant in-game currency and items. As for things we could offer, that's up in the air. We're kind of "preoccupied" at the moment to a man, and it would be nicer, I think, to see a true community event. By the 6v6 community, for the 6v6 community, and of the 6v6 community. If we come in throwing out unicorns (literally) before it's even off the ground, it kind of tarnishes the spirit of the thing.

Down the line just something to consider (if people could get a chance to get to ride around on dragon as or giant 2 headed squigs....)


Putting up ingame currency would need to make them tradeable again which would bring back to the issue that pretty much all 6v6rs are max capped an have deva/duel gear and so don't need that

No come t4 if y'all will have multiple diffrent currencies then sure I guess yeah that could work


I feel matches should be Bo3's

Is gold not an in game currency?

EDIT: Also, if we have brackets, and teams who are already "gambling"... Someone should set up a REAL gambling station. Ofc, you would have to trust said person enough to give them your gold and hope they pay out if you win... But I felt that way towards my bookie so nothin new...

I think statue's for top renown gain for the month would be big juicy boobies.

I think top renown gain ever... gah that kinda takes the fun out of it.

Man what happened to just having bragging rights. Bragging rights is BOSS. Why does everyone need a carrot. I play for the fights not for anything else. I don't really care about gear.

IDK if in game currency or items would be an encouraging factor for guilds, like has been stated before most people who participate in this kind of activity are hardcore players that have max renown BiS characters.

The only things I can think of that would be of interest at least from my perspective are unique appearance items, like trophies or capes. Maybe if the dev team could create special trophies or at least trophy names/descriptions that commemorate a tourney.

Also hopefully this is all being done with t4 in mind, right now I don't think there are any fixed roster 6 man guilds in NA anymore. Really hoping t4 will revitalize it and bring people back, and keep them here long enough to form those solid groups. Not to mention balance is pretty wonky right now in T3 (that destro bias :^) ). Would be cool to see an "official" 6v6 tournament after a few major balance changes make their way out of the balance forums to see what kind of new comps and stuff people can come up with and really put those changes in the spotlight for the 1st time with the best guilds/players in the game trying to make the most out of the changes.
