This is backwards thinking. The quitting is the symptom not 'the problem'. If the problem first. Lack of balance is the problem. Allow for a quick end to the scenario when unbalanced.saupreusse wrote:i think the biggest problem is not that the teams are unbalanced in skill.
people leaving a scenario after being pushed back one time without being punished is really annoying.
a lot of ppl just say no to every scenario they get wiped in the first two minutes.
Also the timer in the beginning should be a bit longer so it wont happen so often, that one side has much more players in the beginning than the other side.
A lot of these early frustrating pushes are caused by unblanced numbers of players.

Re: Fixing boring unbalanced scenarios
We had for maybe a couple days, a scenario manager that almost always put together 2-2-2 groups. But there was too many solo queing DPS that had such long que times that it became detrimental on the whole... at least I think.TenTonHammer wrote:the main issue with scenarios is the system not working correctly yet that results in unequal arch type distribution like 3 healers vs 1 and stuff
The problem is always going to boil down to population of the server not being able to sustain a system effectively enough to keep everyone moderately happy, or just not constantly upset :^)
If we had enough population to the point where tanks/heals got insta pops and DPS had to wait about 10 minutes at most I think it would be doable, but waiting 30 minutes to 2 hours like people were saying is just way too long.

Re: Fixing boring unbalanced scenarios
So instead of artificially balancing a scenario by buffing the losing side to make fights more even; people would prefer scenarios to just end faster?
Wouldn't that just encourage people to give up faster, because they know its going to be over soon anyway. Why try? So we'd end up having lots of really fast, but poor quality scenarios?

Re: Fixing boring unbalanced scenarios
Giving a side a bonus with no downside or investment of any kind just as a consolation for getting their butts kicked is pretty casual, like phone game tier casual.
If you lost, you lost... Although it sounds hypocritical saying this because warhammer is a game that has potentially massive stat gaps via gear, renown etc... Though I believe if the devs wanted to turn scenarios into a very competitive environment that could be fixed via adjusting player stats when entering a scenario. But without a population to even support balanced archetype ques for solo players and group fragments, and the fact that it's just my opinion that scenario should be "competitive" I don't know.

You know, if keep trying and die, then you actually give them points. Two birds with one stone.altharion1 wrote:So anyway, I'm sure you've all sat in scenarios that were over in less than 2mins. One wipe, pushed to your warcamp. Try to push out, fail. Then sit in warcamp for 15mins waiting for the end.
I never got that attitude: "Oh noes, Im losing. I better stand here afk and wait for 15 mins, because I can't win."
If you keep trying, not only are you not bored doing nothing, you maybe only have to wait 5-10 mins, max.
Help to the underdog, when the numbers are even? Nah, I don't like that. Don't mean to sound like an elistist jerk, but probably a learn to play issue. That, or a bad comp.altharion1 wrote:Thoughts?

i thought that we all agreed to throw solo quers under the bus for balanced fair scenarios and that if people wanted fast pops they should form grps??Jaycub wrote:

I solo que a lot on my choppa but i dont care how fast my pops are when im dealing with a scenario in which nothing will die on the enemy side cause they have so many healers, same on my wh

What's new? I'm actually surprised people even noticed the change. Try go to T2 as 35 with debolster, and see how many confused people, you'll meet #ReadTheChangeLogsJaycub wrote:As soon as it went live everyone came out of the woodworks to complain.

I think this sc problem stems from players just being assholes in the scs trolling people, I've been in some sc where destro would be locked in their spawn with a few order players chatting big-**** on /say like they are pro-gamers or something? It's funny tbh, there has been a few destro sc that have whooped order back to their spawn too, its a 50/50 but some people take this GAME to heart and cry its only natural I guess.
Maybe a debuff of some kind can be added for sc leavers and afks, say a reduction in RR/XP rate for 30mins which cannot be removed with relog etc, would be lovely.
