Battlefleet Gothic Armada, Release date: 4/21

I normally dont pre purchase games but something that combined homeworld and W40k just seemed too good to pass up

so angry joe released a developer preview of the game showing off battles and ship customization

the game in my book looks amazing

the multiplayer beta stats this thursday, im probably going to get my ass kicked since ive never played battlefleet gothic on TT or ever played homeworld :D

Gothic on TT was weird. It was a great change of pace from normal 40k, and helped to build a Grand Campaign...

This game should be awesome. The battle sequence looked better than I was expecting. Looks really dependant on micro fleet movements...

I'm gonna go hunt down that Beta, with the assurance that I too, will get {happily} crushed.


But TW: Warhammer has be counting the days...

Wow, this looks incredible. Are there other factions you'll be able to play as besides Chaos and Imperium? Will there be Tau, Ork, Eldar, etc.?

The game is launching with chaos, imperial navy,orks and eldar

preorders will get space marines for free once its added

then down the line their will also be DE, tau and necrons

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye out on this when it was announced. If the Beta starts Thursday, then I'll kick my kids off my PC this weekend.

So I've been putting a few hours into this. It's pretty good. Very similar to how the developers created Mordheim: City of the Damned.

You start out with a small fleet, and as you can advancement you "unlock" abilities for each ship and bigger better ships and fleet sizes. The single player section is super limited on the beta, but looks like it could either be quite a bit of fun, or simply an extended tutorial. Unknown at this point in beta.

Game takes awhile to get the hang of. But if you're a fan of 2d RTS naval style combat, this is the ****. I haven't unlocked anything cool yet, but some of the "endgame" units and powers look badass.

I haven't tried a MP yet. Partly due to not wanting to get utterly smoked a I learn, and according to forums around these webs, that is where the issues are lying currently.

Was $35.99 on steam. And if you purchase a game on Steam, you can refund it if you have played less than 2 hours, so don't feel like it could be cash down the drains.

I've been enjoying the Mulitplayer Beta so far. Even though I've been mostly playing the AI in skirmish games.

Finally got to Rank 8 and unlocked my luscious Retribution Battleship. OM NOM NOM!

Saw some yutube vids today of the alpha testers trying out the orks and Eldar.

Da boyz got all da upgradez but dem were giva real orky namez!

Da klanz ere like dis:

Bad Moonz: Let ya repair ya hulkz cheapa and added a biiiiig mega traktor beam to ya space wagon.
Evil Sunz: Dem speed freakz made the ship real fasta! Oh and da enjin got juice back fasta too. Guess it wuz red too!
Goffz: Moar stompy boardin' stuff, like dem panzy beekiez and Korn flakez.
Blood Axes: Dem sneaky gitz welded da Nova kannon onta ya krooza. An' we ain't dumb umiez to replace da front gunz or rokkitz wiv em!


Orks and eldar were really not complete. Half the tooltips were totally missing so this is all conjecture, even if we discount all the changes the dev team must be making.
Orks had 200+ health to all ships, faster ships and better macrocannons than imperials.
Bad moons gave you better repairs (like Mechanicus) and a traktor beam that jostled an enemy ship around (for good or ill) .
Goffs gave better boardings like Khorne or Space marine one.
Evil Sunz gave the engine guage a faster refill and made the ship faster I think.
Blood Axes put a nova cannon onto your ship, light cruisers included. This did not replace any weapons, so you could keep your front kannonz, zapp guns, or torpedoes with addition to the nova cannon that you could give to all ships of your fleet.
for any one whos on the up and up about the problem that people are having with mass novas imagine what it will be like when orks come in with nova cannons on every non escort ship :lol:
but thats why they are currently not in beta being rebalanced same with eldar wh i heard were being changed cause the ai was super op with them

also the evil sunz symbol used is the same as the one used for the bloody sun boyz in warhammer online
