X-realm Timer
Re: X-realm Timer
I suggest finding a group of people in your timezone and leveling up both destro and order characters. Then you play the underdog. It doesnt matter if you dont get many flips; AAO compensates for this by a lot. You will always have someone to fight and have fun. My guild does this and we never even notice this x-realming so many people speak of.

I am late to the discussion and I have no idea what you're insinuating.nugster wrote:Sarcasm at it's finest I seemagicthighs wrote:I think this is a brilliant idea and I can't believe nobody has ever suggested this before.

Re: X-realm Timer
In addition to the excellent points brought up above, you also have to consider confirmation bias. You''re looking for x-realming to be the answer as to why you suddenly get outnumbered in a zone, but think about this: how many times have you seen in Realm War chat, or General, or whatever, the following message.
"Keep defense in Elf, all join WB on X"
And then everyone joins the warband, or the overflow warband, and runs to Elf, and suddenly what was a competitive defense is now a zerg machine. Or, if you're in a guild/alliance, you may see the same but in those chats. And then perhaps people log off their mains (or their alts, or whatever) and join the guild/alliance warband.
There are multiple explanations for why you might end up suddenly outnumbered. Like almost everyone, I got both Order and Destro toons, and I see the attitude on both factions: "aw screw this, they got a bunch of xrealmers" whenever we end up with AAO in a zone. But no one ever seems to remember how they got there: someone in Realm War or Guild chat said "go to Elf, let's stomp em" and so we went.
I'm not saying people don't cross-realm, cuz I'm sure it happens. People get sick of getting smashed on one toon, and so go to the winning side. But, I don't think it's nearly as pervasive as people paint it out to be, and I think most of the time, what people think is x-realming is literally just the other faction naturally gravitating to a hotspot due to people communicating in chat. So something that seems utterly normal and transparent when you do it on your faction looks nefarious and evil when the enemy does it because you can't see their chat spam of "join wb in Elf for keep defense!" and instead you remember that wipe 5 minutes ago and think "god damn x-realmers!"

I'd love to play a class on order that was a mirror (or similar to) a shaman but i just can't bring myself to play an elf they just look so bad in this game.Penril wrote:Level a Dps AM as well. Hunt AAO. Have fun.

Hey. My English is poor, ask forgiveness for mistakes.
I had a different idea. What if the server to count the number of visits in a row for one of the parties? As a bonus, give some money to those who selflessly playing for his side. Or for example, you can put the NPC who will take a special currency that will be credited for every 10, 20, 50 plays. It asortimente can be green pots (talisman) or experience boosters. What it would not be much impact on the overall balance.
