That works for now but what when we have rank 40 and can get our full specs?Penril wrote:I would link the check to certain skills (that are always specd in that class DPS spec). AM has heal debuff? He is DPS. Zealot has CA? he is DPS.
A healing am can easily access the healing debuff, while running full heal spec, with your method he would be considered dps.

Please read his post - he's not calling you a chucklefuk for playing dps healer. He's saying that people trying to blatantly trick the que manager for sc's by acting NOT as dps healer (via removing tactics etc..) but then go into the sc and actually be dps... are chucklefucks.Dreadspectre wrote: Please do not refer to me as a "chucklefuck" just because I enjoy the playstyle. All tanks are always classified as tank. It may surprise some people to know that my view is that a tank should always play the PvP role of a tank first and foremost, and is at most an assist to a DPS.TenTonHammer wrote:quick question az because im curious what are SMs and BOs who go path of Heoth and Boss classified as?

Re: Forum Order consensus vs reality. Why is that?
well if you dont trick the system you WONT be seeing to less heals, thats the whole purpose of the system!Dreadspectre wrote:Azarael wrote:Yep. The intent with that was not to provide a cast-iron method of detection with the assumption that people would try to avoid it. It was to attempt to take the guilt off DPS RP/Zealot by allowing them to run DF and know that they counted as DPS for matchmaking purposes. If people want to be chucklefucks, they're going to find a way of doing that anyway.
I feel conflicted when the developer of a game name calls people and generally puts them down for wanting to play the game how they want to play it.
I probably end up healing 80% of the time in SC's on my Zealot because it's the responsible thing to do, but I'm geared for DPS and specced for DPS and I will gladly DPS if I see an abundance of heals on my team or we seem to not need heals for whatever reason.

It was just an example; in T4 it would be a little more complex.bloodi wrote:That works for now but what when we have rank 40 and can get our full specs?Penril wrote:I would link the check to certain skills (that are always specd in that class DPS spec). For AM, i would go like this: "did he spec Wild Healing? he is a healer. He did not? He is DPS".
And something similar for all healers. Use those skills/tactics that define the spec and decide the role based on that.

Well I misread what he was talking about anyway.
That being said, I find myself often solo grinding mobs in between SC's so I almost always queue up with DF slotted, however like I said, 9/10 times I'll end up switching to heals when everyone loads in depending on what classes we got.
Does this make me like...the opposite of a chucklefuck..queueing as DPS and playing as healer..?
We need to make a term for it.
