Then you probably skip a lot skills in your rotation. You shouldn't have time for a 3sec nuke.

Not at all. 5 sec of BB is enough for Fireball and Sear, then WH hits right on the time of BB tick.

You might not have the rank yet for Slow Boil because this will add a gcd to you rotation, which makes it impossible to fit in Fireball. With higher level and enough points you add Nova right before Withering Heat.

Slow Boil has nothing to do with shortening the 5 sec Boiling Blood window for Fireball to fit in it.
Idk if I've been doing it correct or not for years but I always felt that FB fit the burst rotation much better and preferred it to Pyroclastic Surge.
Every time I tried the latter it felt that the burst was lacking. :|

PS does corp dmg, something you debuff. Based on cast time PS deals similar damage to FB. When you add a 2nd 5 sec bomb dot (SB) to you rotation, then you have to shorten the longer cast or one of both hits too early.
When you don't have SB yet, then FB is reasonable.

Outstanding destro player, equipped deva/duelist set, underwork/grim/boundless jewelry, influ belt, with chosen/shammy buffs has about 800 corporeal resistance right now, you'd better think about it guys.

Not necessarily, for me the burst is all about BB 5 second tic timing with Sear+Nova/WH while the long-casted FB/PS is flying in. If I started it earlier on the Slow Boil tic the target felt damage earlier and had a GCD to react, some hots to tick on the target, etc.
So I myself refer to Slow Boil as a debuff that just puts the target to 90% hp - while the next GCD I take down the rest it in one glorious explosion. Just like the Ignite is the resistance debuff.
Pumping more Int into the 3sec cast of FB somehow feels more rewarding in the killing department that 2sec of PS, even if accounted for the corp resist (which is mostlikely overcapped now anyway) debuff ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I run myself around 570+ Spirit resist unbuffed, so with ~230 aura/rune we are somewhat equal here ;)

While i agree that ps+sb will be better on the future, right now with it having 2 chances of being disrupted and the lack of the last stats to put us on t4 shape, i feel that SB is not worth it for the damage it does, just to mask and that you will have better results with FB in the rotation instead of PS.

However, as Sulorie says, PS+SB will be stronger in the future so may as well get used to it.

The inflated resist stats of the new armor sets make it possible to stack such high resists opposed to live. I see it as a huge mistake balancing wise.
