Re: [Bright Wizard] Combustion / Career Mechanic
not to spoil the game and not to scare the community, it is not necessary to change the mechanics of that principle, and so balanced, do not need to listen to people who do not understand the mechanics of the game.

My quote was to emphasise your correct view on melee and TB. But yes I need to learn how to quote multiple people when posting. You're smart enough to know who I was referring toBretin wrote:no idea why you combine bloodi's post with mine but actually you should fix your quoting skills and make sure you refer to the right guy

Or make more abilities that are used more often in a rotation, such as my Nova suggestion to remove 40 combustion, so the player has a choice to drop combustion completely or by a smaller amount to control it.bloodi wrote:I would much rather see a dot debuff on whoever is above x in the mechanic. Right now is a stupid spike where sometimes i can still free cast even at 100 without healers and others using ignite/chillwind + any other bullshit will remove my last 1k of hp.
So something like if you are above x you eat y per second and it scales.
However, meltdown and Dhar wind will need some look at if that happens.
Sorry to break it to you but right now, with higher backslash chance the higher you are on the mechanic, thats exactly what happens, you eat more damage being at full mechanic than at half, its very simple math.ThePollie wrote:TenTonHammer wrote:

If i wanted to drop my combustion by that amount, i would use burnout that also gives you 160 ap on use, not a skill that i probably wont have till rr 60 or 70, is instant and uses 40 ap.Tklees wrote:Or make more abilities that are used more often in a rotation, such as my Nova suggestion to remove 40 combustion, so the player has a choice to drop combustion completely or by a smaller amount to control it.
I asked you what was the though proccess behind it before, if its about being able to drop your combustion by that amount, no thanks, there are better things to do so.
I seriously cant see where you are coming from with this idea. Managing combustion up and down is not an issue, there is also Scorched earth, that after the deserved nerfs it got, its pretty much a skill reduced to remove combustion.

Re: [Bright Wizard] Combustion / Career Mechanic
Wasn't planning to participate in this thread, but it's getting more ridiculous day by day.
Im all up for balance and changes, in order to improve the game etc, but MAYBE ppl should stop talking about classes they have NO idea about. Stick to a class for more than 24h and then come on the forums with your pro suggestions. Or better yet, wait for t4 and try playing a sorc/BW without TB.
Apart from that tho, IMO, a change in the way backlash hits would automatically mean a complete rework of the class, and i highly doubt (or tbh hope
) Aza senpai or any other dev intends to do that. I dont see why we should change the cast range (srsly wtf) or any other thing.
Obv it pisses me off when i literally kill myself everytime i cast a spell, but hey!! thats how they designed the class, and i learnt how to deal with it. You cant expect to deal approximately 5k dmg in such a short period of time without suffering any consequences. Stahp trying to turn everything into ez mode.
And to quote 2 brave forum warriors:

Peace out ladiez!bloodi wrote: If you nerf crit bonus and crit damage, you need to rework the class completely, from the ground up, its not about power levels, is about them being designed around having that from the get go, i agree that is poorly designed and the backslash mechanic is worthless but you cannot touch crit and crit damage for BW/Sorc, is simply their viability comes from it.

Re: [Bright Wizard] Combustion / Career Mechanic
I am just exploring the options of dropping combustion in an offensive, scorched earth is pbaoe and sometimes not useful on target, and sometimes you are good on AP and don't need burnout. If not nova another ability maybe Burning Iron? could be used to drop combustion in an OFFENSIVE way. That is all I'm suggesting. Other than that i believe the classes are completely fine as is.bloodi wrote:If i wanted to drop my combustion by that amount, i would use burnout that also gives you 160 ap on use, not a skill that i probably wont have till rr 60 or 70, is instant and uses 40 ap.Tklees wrote:Or make more abilities that are used more often in a rotation, such as my Nova suggestion to remove 40 combustion, so the player has a choice to drop combustion completely or by a smaller amount to control it.

Re: [Bright Wizard] Combustion / Career Mechanic
I don't get this sentiment that is thrown around a lot, where just because someone doesn't have some level of experience deemed by someone or even none at all their suggestions/arguments are immediately invalid or worthless, or even worse yet that their ideas as seen as threats because the devs or someone important might "take them seriously". Pretty sure this type of response or line of thinking falls under ad hom.katroulitsa wrote: Im all up for balance and changes, in order to improve the game etc, but MAYBE ppl should stop talking about classes they have NO idea about. If the suggestion being made, by a person of little or no experience ("has no idea what they are talking about") it should be pretty easy for anyone to tear their argument a new asshole without having to resort to "dude do you even play X class?".
IDK just a rant, and ya this thread was doomed from the 1st response lol.
