Bretin wrote:as i've already stated in an earlier post, both Hunter and Savagery will stay their core spec when it comes to competitive group play but again: The stat steal you had before was useless. Corrosion will help both classes to bring all of their trees more in line with Hunter and Savagery and will give people the possibility to play something different w/o being a gimp. Further it increases their solo play and their large scale potential.
The stat steal is useless? Just as useless as armour debuff since no one will give up maxing savagery.

hi, thanks for this great work.
it sounds like a very good thing.
But, i have just a question about new Devastator tank set.
Why do you keep strength and weapon skill on it ?

Just to clarify this:

The existing Devastator-set will be modified, so we can keep our current devastator items. Right?

We won't have an "old" and a "new" Devastator set, right?

No, those changes will be retroactive meaning your old devastator set will turn into a new one automatically.

One thing that 70% of Duelist sets will be dead for players. Its very frustrating for me, because devs work on it, but *maybe* desigh them wrong way.
We had dd/deff sets on live server and big part of community think that they were just a big mistake.
Same mistake will be here.
IMHO better if sets will be desigh according to speciations cause dd/deff versions good only for tanks/heals

He does have a point tho, these sets do favor healers/tanks much more than DPS. I think what he is asking for is the DPS sets to reflect each spec (3 trees?) rather than just off/def.

So for instance WH would get 3 sets each defined by judgement, inquisition, confession. With stats and procs that make the most sense for the play style of each.

But ya I don't think anyone is complaining about more options, maybe just still mad at how sov was handled on live with the def sets being mad OP.

I don't understand jaycub

So explain to me, how would you create a set specifically geared to one tree on an mdps? Espically one like wh? I don't understand what potential diffrenxes the sets could have

Something like a dps vs heal set for DoK/WP. I could understand

WH trees are pretty well defined I think.

Confession is the defensive utility tree, inquisition is our debuff/utility tree, and judgement is our offensive tree? At least that's how I see it.

Each set could sort of reflect that and have appropriate procs. For instance having dissolve on my gear as an inquisition WH playing a supportive role to a slayer would be awesome. Having some kind of crit based proc in judgement, a defensive/regen proc for confession, etc...

Or even something that could make dragon gun viable in the confession tree, I mean there is a lot you could do but I can't really do any better than this right now as far as ideas but im sure if this was something that was going to happen the community as a whole / devs could come up with much better ideas.

If we had the ability to create our own procs at this time, I would be all for coming up with some creative procs that support specific trees. At the moment though, we're stuck working with what the game already had, and within that set of procs, a smaller subset that is power-appropriate to T3.
