Is the shield Wp/DoK still viable?

Has anyone found a way to make shield WP/DoK playable? Is it less of a hassle to go chalise / book and just forget about shield spec? For me what made shield spec playable and kind of fun was the aoe damage and heal to everyone, not just your group.

Now granted, the tactic making the life tap abilities indefendible is awesome. But that was about the only change that has made an impact on my game play style.

Just looking for feedback from other WP or DoK players.

Still very playable. just only in smallscale and SCs. and it is a bit worse then before. playing Book is the same result with less friction/trouble but we're not machines that play 100% optimally. you will have to try a bit harder but its still very fun to pull out.
