New to Game, need help deciding on class.

I usually play tanks, I am open to DPS. Is there a tank class that can solo pretty well but still do its job in a group?

I always want to play a DPS class but find they are either one note or aren't in demand.

For Order, Empire and Elf tanks are considered the best... then dwarf. IB (dwarf) is also the hardest to play. All three are good.

Generally, this is not a solo game (unless you're talking pve leveling, which I would not recommend for leveling... but any class can do that solo).

Tanks are always in demand.

How do the tanks stack up on the Destruction side?

Black Orc is a good tank class to play. They can do decent damage as 2H and they can tank well enough with a shield. They aren't going to burst as well as a melee DPS. What makes them different is that they can last longer in the melee (heavy armor and high wounds will do that). Plus they can still be useful to the group while they do their damage through the buffs they provide (one is a damage resist, one is a mediocre heal, and the other is a stat steal).
