Mb it's time to start punishing this characters who go against the basics of the game, spoil the game process and adversely affect the players' motivation

maybe this is just the time to rethink and find the point after which the game came to today's sad result? how will you punish the player for throwing the fort at the time of push? he just say that he had bad internet, dc or server lag.

it shouldn't be though, and losing the campaign to get Royals shouldn't be the intended playstyle, but it is as cities are the best way to get them, so people that only want them will try and throw forts to get them.

The thing is, these people don't matter at all since they have zero impact in the forts/campaigns anyhow. Sure they take away spots in the forts and then release after the first push, or they don't defend at all but just solo roam or afk at the wcs, but at the end of the day they don't really matter.
This throwing nonsense becomes more serious when it's actual warband leaders/guilds that call for it, which doesn't ) really happen. The solo nerds spamming /t4 and /region with their snarky PRIDE bullshit aren't important, and will probably just leave the game after their gearing is over.
