Knight if your new, SM If you want to do 2-hand damage.

Ignore the IB hate. Ironbreaker is very fun to play, beastmode in small man. The downside is ability glut. If you can handle using 20 abilities IB is your cat.

And what exactly makes IB so miserable to play?
IB isn't miserable to play, it just isn't good. People say it gets hate because its hard to play but bg is the same thing, except the stuff bg has is actually good for all levels of play.

IB has a lot of buffs that just dont stack w/ knight/sm stuff and doesn't bring anything unique to the table for order groups besides an armor debuff for melee groups w/o white lions, and some powerful single target buffs for mdps. It's a good tank in double slayer 6v6/sc groups, or if for whatever reason you run wh+Slayer instead. It's been bad for a very long time and desperately needs the same treatment that BG got but because we got a bunch of IB players on this server getting high off the smell of their own farts they actively campaigned against anything being done to the class on several occasions and certainly aren't going to speak up after most people gave up trying.

If you like the IB playstyle which is pretty refreshing especially compared to knight/chosen gameplay but want to play something that is good at all levels of play and doesn't have a problem finding spots in groups just play BG.

IB needs some serious love when it comes to 24v24/city scale, and in terms of small scale it either needs some buffs or more nerfbat on knight/SM there or we have to see WH/DPS WP get some serious buffs for what IB brings to a 6 man to shine more. IB was the meta off tank on live for pretty much ever but the go to melee train was also wh+Slayer, WL was a meme class and groups on order didn't have the luxury of armor buffs all over the place like destro has so that IB armor debuff was crucial.

IB is fine. The problem a lot of order players have with IB is that, particularly late game, IB looks by far the coolest, and is generally despised by folk who sunk 70 hours into kotbs/SM to look like a guy larping at some comicon conference in America.

IB is single target buffer/debuffer, while both Knight and SM have candy for whole party.

Stick the tape on the monitor in the place where you have 9 pt ability. And play for about 6 years in the hope that something will change. This is for a start.

This .... IB is hard to master and in fact does not bring anything more exeptional than Knight or SM can offer (btw destro mains fears that by improving IB order will get proper front line in rvr other than keep walls bc looks well and might be more popular among solo players...... so you know forum warriors never sleeps )

Want to also say that unlike live, we have a PvP city here. 24v24 actually matters and as much **** as it might get from the playerbase the devs achieved a good end to the campaign instead of the retarded FIND EMPTY INSTANCE PvE freefarm on live. We also dont have hyper inflated gear progression and people actually care about gear instead of just having it handed to them well before they could ever achieve the RR to wear it.

But that also means people actually CARE if their class is good in largescale/24v24 unlike before when the only thing that really mattered to hardcore players was "can i fit into a 6 man ?".

This is why you are seeing a lot of new heated balance discussion this year with the release of city. And in terms of tanks IB is undisputably at the bottom rung for tanks in this area.

Dont understand this IB hate. I thought blorc's 2hander build was all based around tree hit combo, which IB has, along with the big boosts to crit damage.

I read the other day someone put it that IB is a "piano class" which is true. Where some classes have a small rotation of buttons based on single target vs aoe situations, IB really has to use many more buttons to get the most out of the class. Furthermore the buffs provided don't provide the same overall benefit that a Knight aura does and the duration of the IB buffs tend to be kind of short so it you do a lot of work for not much benefit compared to knight. I have an old Logitech G11 keyboard with extra keys on the left side and my pinky gets a workout especially when I play my IB.
