[Tank] BO, chosen or BG

Hello,

I need help deciding which tank to play. Don't know if this is the right subforum, but I figured I'd put it here since it includes all destro tanks.

What conditions I'll be playing under:

1. 3-6vX, where 'X' is everything from premades to pug-wbs.

2. Mostly RvR roaming, but also SC.

3. Will play with atleast 1 healer (most likely with 2) and atleast one mdps(mara).

What I want to achieve/what playstyle I'm after:

1. Keeping an eye on the battlefield, using CC/punts and guardswaps to help my team both offensively and defensively.

2. Being the 'main tank', since it will not be uncommon for me to be the only tank in the group, and I prefer the more supportive gameplay over the dps assist gameplay.

My understandings of the tanks at this moment(correct me if I'm off here..):

1. BO, good assist dps, good support to group via statsteal and some neat partybuffs/skull thumper.
Bad cc(no ST punt, no KD) not as much "on demand" as other tanks.

2. Chosen, good tankyness(even 2h?), good punt/stun(on demand, requiring no class-mechanic to pull off), excellent group support and debuffs via auras.
Bad dmg?

3. BG, good punt(costs resource thoough so can't be used quite as reliable as chosens, however it shoots the target further away), decent party support with some powerfull ST buffs, able to buff the target in need when someone is being focused by swapping dark protector.
(my knowledge on BG is very limited so I'm sure I've missed a lot.)

I'm leaning toward the chosen because of the auras and the on demand cc he has. Not sure if 2h or SnB though.

Appreciate any feedback and suggestions!

Would you recommend going for 2h or SnB as single tank?
What I've gathered from skulking around the forums is that the benefit of 2h lies in superpunt+crit debuff(how reliable is this though, considering it requires a crit?)
But maybe it's better to be able to tank guard damage better and be less of a burden for the healers and going SnB?

2h for smallscale
snb always better for WB

2h with high parry and dodge/disrupt is usually fine for tanking guard damage in small encounters

Okay, chosen it is then 8-)

One last question, is it worth going for crippling strike before bis/near-bis gear? Or should i focus on getting my avoidance up first and speccing for CS later?

Avoidance first, guard damage will kill you faster than any damage directed at you. And if you get focused you are still doing your "job".

Okay, how about specs? Is CS worth going for (at better gear/renown) or is it too much to sacrifice 2 tactics for it?
Also you have to sacrifice quake, considering OB and 15% crit seems kinda mandatory for CS to be reliable (maybe not OB)

Atm (40/26) im going ap aura and up to opression(will most likely swap out ap aura for quake when i no longer need mixed defences)

Any breakpoint in stats to aim for? Im thinking of going(buffed stats) 500 str, 4500 armor, ~900 res, 300 ini (combined with 2 FS) and leftovers in thoughness.
