Balance of the event double XP/RR
Re: Balance of the event double XP/RR
Destro was zerging a little because it was motivated, War is psychological even if its just a game... order was generally all over the place put up nice effort in some zones, but in others it couldn't get a foothold really. When destro smells blood order really needs to step up its game to stop the momentum asap, dominate open field and you will make some of those zergers log off or switch sides to give you even more momentum.
Was a fun event... even if my head was spinning and I couldn't see straight by the end of it.

Re: Balance of the event double XP/RR
I spend most of the week leveling an alt, however from the few moments that i did participate in orvr i can state that destro had no (overt) organization. Sometimes people would deploy rams at random moments, escort them by themselves to the gates of the enemy keep, bring down both doors and kill the lord without even declaring in the chat that a siege was happening, while some destro bands were still snoozing in BOs as if nothing exceptional was happening.
Also, for the people who state that ordies are casuals/destros are rambo on steroids, here's a story. Yesterday i was standing on the IC BO in KV with my zergband, when suddenly we were jumped by ordies who had caught us with our pants down, half the band was killed in the upper levels and it couldn't be ressurected while the rest was defending the bottom. I was one of the fellows who died on the upper levels and being the nice little zergling that i am, i just respawned and mindlessly headed back towards IC...only to find out that the ordie zerg was still there, trying to capture the damn thing for 3-4 minutes straight. It was after they were starting to break down from the flanking on the stairs that i noticed that they were the bloody CNTK band! I have no clue how the fellows defending the bottom pulled that off but it was simply glorious and if it was up to me i would have thrown a triumph through the Inevitable City to commemorate their valor.

Re: Balance of the event double XP/RR
order pub healers are just beyond awful whilst destro has tons of nameless zealots and shammies who will absolutely bust their balls trying to keep you alive. this is not something i came up with over the weekend, it's my main observation of this game over nearly the last 3 years
as a pub scrub, playing destro is just a far better experience, and most players are pubbers
i don't know how to fix this. i guess i could stop whining and roll a runepriest

Sad, yet indicative of RoR's 'path of least resistance/avoid proper fights' playerbase.
99% of guild were on order riding the aao train.
Also I agree with croms assessment on order casualstyle.

Re: Balance of the event double XP/RR
All good reasons not to bother with double weekends. Thanks for the feedback.
We wouldn't want the other realm to get stuff simply because they rally their forces and win zones. That wouldn't make sense at all.
Perhaps we should go with Torque's -75% RR/XP "Training Scroll" weekend instead so the underdog teams have even less to fight for.

Re: Balance of the event double XP/RR
it was still fun though. Even playing my lowbie SM, had some good fights even if Order got crushed a bit. Like I said, even with equal numbers it didnt matter, Order just got spanked due to less serious playstyle. Some of the best fun came from zergsurfing with aao, trying to steal kills and then run before the hand of god smacked us down
It was definitely a great weekend of play. Losing sucks, but I figure if your side loses but you have a positive KDR, it wasnt too bad. Pug Anroc as order is literal hell though, cannot recommend. As BG it is heaven, however.

That was actually how I felt yesterday. In the CNTK Warband we used Tunnel, jumps on destro idling at cairn, 3 minute bio break at waterfall and back into action.TheSockPuppet wrote:I spend most of the week leveling an alt, however from the few moments that i did participate in orvr i can state that destro had no (overt) organization. All while someone spawned a ram and moved to Destro keep without waiting for support.
Order puts effort into organizing and coordination between warbands, but only on guild warband days and not on casual days where you just wantvto roam a little.

Re: Balance of the event double XP/RR
the weekend was great and i had a lot of fun leveling my IB, it just reminded me that order is great for ranged players and those who play in organized groups, but bad for lone melee, and it's the hordes of us faceless tanks that make destro so steamrolly at times
there are so many turtle BGs out there right now i'm not surprised that order simply cannot stop them
