Have you also considered that a lot of people play ORVR during primetime, meaning less people for SC queues?
In 6v6 or any "organized group" fight, the more optimal setup wins; and if are really interested in winning, you most likely will succumb to optimizing your setup, meaning some classes are not really wanted and various non-meta specs are undesired.
And as this game is 9 years old, many of the old players are just damn tired of following "meta" or going with the optimal specs, people want to dps heal because it can be fun, they want to play 2h tanks because they like it and they might be running weird dps specs because why not; it will work often enough in PUG scs.
But were these suboptimal-builds-players to try playing proper group vs group scenario, they would obviously get roflstomped by the more serious boyband.
6v6 is just way too serious for vast majority of the remaining playerbase. We get our fun from fighting like a herd of headless chickens pecking at another herd of headless chickens that belong to different realm.

No the problem is not population.. its the lack of incentive... people would rather afk at a BO in the middle of a zerg.. why? Because doing so gives rewards... you get random rr ticks and contribution for even more rr and bags for when zone flips... so again why not give a little push to have people do something else.. at least give the option.. i truely cannot see the harm in makeing it a little more attractive to do other things than just runing in a wbDreadspectre wrote:Solo queuing is lazy? This. This preconceived notion of the 'meta' needs to be done away with: there isn't a competitive scene, classes aren't the same as they were on live, there's a lot more variety being encouraged/pushed for on RoR. Stop using that as an excuse for your laziness.
Is grouping elitist snobbery then? Of course not, sweet jesus.
You're problem isn't solo queue players, it's population, population and population.
Get more people to play or the problem wont ever fix itself. It's not rocket science.

Re: Incredibly long group SC pops
Nah, grouping is playing the game as it was intended. Solo queuing is playing the game as it wasn't intended. Pretty clear-cut discrepancy. When the latter starts to have an impact on the former, something needs to be done. Again - just my 2c.
I do echo Aura's points re RVR having an impact, too. What I am saying, though, is that the scenarios that do occur are usually pug/BfP.

Again with the meta... i have yet to figure out what the meta that everyone talks about is... and i have also yet to be in a group that has simply stopped caring about trying to figure out new fun ways of playing different classes..Aurandilaz wrote:Have you also considered that a lot of people play ORVR during primetime, meaning less people for SC queues?

The thing about a pvp game is that metas do not stay the same.. people figure out ways to do things differently...
And as i pointed out before just because there are 6mans running around doesnt mean that they are all "meta" comps (what ever that means)

A bunch of the premades had core members banned. That's the root of the problem.

A contributory factor, indeed, but the intent of this thread is to provoke discussion as to how more group play/group scenario can be encouraged.

Wait for instances, PvE will attract some population and give people another reason to group up, not only for brainless sc pugstomp/wccamping as we have now.peterthepan3 wrote: A contributory factor, indeed, but the intent of this thread is to provoke discussion as to how more group play/group scenario can be encouraged.

That doesn't really solve the issue? And I'm sensing some hostility. Would appreciate feedback from other groups.

Re: Incredibly long group SC pops
The general population plays Scenarios for Instant PVP without having to put to much dedication into it. If they wanted to put more dedication into the SC scenene they would. But theres just not that much intreast in it.
The banning of players argument doesn't hold up as if there was a general SC intreast or people found that expeeience fun, the banned players would've been replaced in the long run by other groups or players as new players are joining the game.
Adding better rewards for SC is a short term fix. And will just resault in the same outcome down the road as there is a lvl and gear cap. The problem that needs to be solved is the experience.
