I still log in for a few scs but rvr is just too zergy to be enjoyable now. Without any gear progression and the rng of rvr rewards theres no real reason to do it.

jorgemarco wrote:Its logical population decreases. People are tired cause they cant get their sets. My guild is a little frustrated cause getting merc is a hell. Apart of that veterana abuse un RvR and dont want other ppl can get merc. As i always say bad way
I am the only one thinkin currently sets are super easy to obtain? ( even annihilator )... i buy ap and heal potions with meds and emblems because i got tired of gettin alternate sets for all my chars.

My SH has x3 Annihilator sets and x1 Merc, been months spending the officials in poties, same with all my chars.

There's just currently kind of a stalemate once you hit around RR 60, as you've already acquired all the gear there is to grab and by then probably have decent talismans too, there's not much left to chase at the moment.

Not much left to do post 60 besides getting deathblow on Norkalli and jumping on his corpse. "Mr. I never use my morale 1 because it's too OP and I don't want to exploit any unfair advantage." Norkalli Dec 2016

New events and new gear is not a good strategy fix for increase population .
Its like putting a band aid over severed limbs.
Making RVR more of a grind game is not a good solution either .

Population doesn't have much to do with these things, the key is making RVR exciting ,fun to play!
That will usher in healthy secured population !

It seems Warhammer purposely designed the original state of RVR to be boring but still somewhat appealing.
Mission accomplished ......to fix RVR is a colossal task!

Incorporating Scenerio type of play in RVR might bring the excitement level to where it needs be.

there are multiple reasons for the ongoing population-shrinkage. i believe the main reasons are as followed:

- you have multiple people reporting a bad behavior of the dev team on huge platforms such as youtube and facebook. a shitstorm is never unheeded and is usually followed by a whole series of consequences. a youtube video with 7k views and multiple facebook post with ~100 posts are quite a lot - considering the rather small population of RoR.

- the competitive scene died with the banhammer of June 2016 when the dev team decided to observe a third medium such as Twitch.tv and implement a rule which would allow them to ban people for trashtalking in their own environment (retroactive). the result was a huge outcry and a banhammer which affected multiple guilds:
  • + critical acclaim (disbanded)
    + enigma (disbanded)
    + KappaPride (disbanded)
    + Red Guard (partially disbanded)
    + Fusion (partially disbanded)
The lack of certain people did not just kill guilds by itself but was also the reason to make other guilds stop playing as they had nobody to measure their skill with any longer. Nowadays you have guilds like krautcontrol & LoB dominating the battlefield. considering they were literally a non-factor during 2016, it is obvious that you won't find (new) people forming serious groups, neither will you attract skilled players to return. the community changed to be rather super small scale and make use of the new implemented solo queue which totally supports the casual gameplay.

- oRvR: the oRvR changes did often suffer from bugs and unbalanced circumstances which forced huge RvR guilds to leave. the 2 best examples would be Porn Factory and Kings Own. Those guilds were dominating the RvR like crazy and are missed badly.

- balance changes: with the release of T4 and the balance forums multiple changes were implemented. one did completely rework a class which was loved by many: the DoK/WP. many people were not satisfied and did simply not agree with those changes and the way RoR takes.

- on top of that you had a large DDOS attack followed by a new server and the lack of progression, which for some people seems to be mandatory.

More like April 16. When no order plays ranged, I'll stop rooting. Until then I'll use my only ranged ability accordingly :3
