New lord too easy to abuse for crossrealmers
New lord too easy to abuse for crossrealmers
In 2 separate zones now and multiple times in those zones I have seen a particular order guild very obviously abuse the new lord mechanic by having a destro player run upstairs and pull lord down on the rest of destro trying to hold off order from coming in downstairs. No one was on lord in any instance, just 1 destro player runs up the stairs, taps lord, immediately runs back down, and then order pours in the postern a moment later with their buffed lord helping them wipe destro. I watched the player do it the last time because I knew it was gonna happen since the order guild was zerging outside postern, and sure enough one player beelines it for lord via small stairs, throws 1 ranged attack, and runs right back down followed by order wiping us. It was extremely obvious his actions were intentional. Real unfun. No GM online, reported player through CSM appeal, not calling anyone out here, but it would be great if there was some way to prevent this in a more permanent manner than hoping that guy gets banned eventually and order is nice enough not to roll another toon to do it with.

How can one ranged attack pull whole aggro of a properly tanked boss?

He was not getting tanked, no one was on lord, we were all trying to defend bot in all instances since there was enough order outside to wipe us.

Well, that might be the issue here, if you are in enemy keep your job is to kill lord, not sit comfortably and farm weaker force. You can treat it as an exploit but tbh its the same as sneaking and using oil while opposing force is on lord. Its a mechanic that exsists and well, the lord is trying to defend his keep

How is that the same as crossrealming? I am talking about order using a destro logged character to help order win fights. If devs really agree with your entire statement then go ahead and set lord downstairs from now on so everyone has to deal with him as soon as they enter keep and it will actually be as you explained. As is we should have the option of choosing to not engage lord to better defend keep, it happens all the time, having that get taken away by the opposite realm abusing crossrealming does not seem like something anyone should be defending IMO.

In order to kill lord you need to wipe order first, or have so many people that you can have a bunch on lord AND keep order at bay.szejoza wrote: ↑Wed Apr 18, 2018 6:25 am Well, that might be the issue here, if you are in enemy keep your job is to kill lord, not sit comfortably and farm weaker force. In any case, the issue here is a player on destro intentionally griefing his own realm to benefit his order friends.
To OP, I would message a GM here with the character name and order guild name. Hopefully the **** gets banned.

Re: New lord too easy to abuse for crossrealmers
Crossrealming isn't an issue here imo. The issue was that your realm didn't attempt to take on lord. If you had even one proper 6man on lord it wouldn't happen.
edit: you wipe defenders from bottom floor up to the 3rd as a zerg in the first stage of keep take, after that attackers spread forces between defending bottom floor and taking down lord, if you turtle only on the bottom floor its you fault for not playing the objective as intended

No. The issue is quite literally that one player crossrealmed and intentionally griefed destro players by pulling lord solo downstairs with the specific intent to help order. That and only that is the issue.

Yes, it's shitty behavior, but can be easily countered by having whole 6 ppl on the lord to prevent that. Of course we can always get back to the old keep lords if the new one is too complicated...

No, that is clearly someone abusing a flaw in the programing. IMO it's worthy of a temp ban considering the guy's motives and number of times he has allegedly done it.szejoza wrote: ↑Wed Apr 18, 2018 6:25 am Well, that might be the issue here, if you are in enemy keep your job is to kill lord, not sit comfortably and farm weaker force. Defending the bottom is pretty common during NA prime time because neither side has enough players to take out the keep lord, since, as far as I know, he doesn't scale in difficulty depending on the population. It takes so long to take him out and he does so much damage that a small group can easily wipe the attackers- so neither side tries and instead try to hold the bottom floor in hopes that more people will log on.
