Offensive sets are a bit of scam

I agree. I typically solo roam aSW, however, defensive gear and setup with 3.8k armour, high parry, and 9.5k WNDS counts for nothing against WEs who KD you, and use positionals and armour bypass to basically negate all defenses. That's not a problem of def Sets though, but of some classes or perhaps the current meta gameplay.

How you dare? Gersy said patch is excellent. All WEs said patch is excellent. Nobody cares about strugles of some nonames in "not a sologame", thus balance there shouldnt be considered. Even if WEs hits making black holes in people in groupplay too (Prebuffed witchbrew).

aSW was more viable then WH to my taste when i was lvling it, and ive met few REALLY strong ones. If people think they are weak and dont see where and why they shine - not my problem. Main hit was not from WE changes, but from WS parry drop, aSW could reach unholy amounts of defences while having pretty decent burst and stable damage. But devs then compensated it by boosting its ranged crit a lot. Now im expecting they will be ruined in same wild style of WH/WE patch. But They are Still good example of def gear use and can reach 5k armor to live where other classes will be constantly punished for squishiness.

Gersy is not right though. He sees only "right" way of playing game where you are meta slave and should be punished for any deviation from it. Meanwhile people show that even 24wh wb can be efective setup. Basicaly any TUP shitshow proves that Gersy wrong. Use your imagination, be creative, and never stuck in box others try stick you.

In case of def gear, why not? You will lose some damage but will get more time. In impacts with 5 wb where regular glass cannon warbands die, maybe such one live. Problem that people are afraid to go from 2/2/2 offset golden standarts, but it doesn't mean such ways dont exist.

as for TUP.. they are playing in open rvr vs players with significantly less skill than them and in an environment where they can safely do meme stuff and succeed. probably the reason they do meme stuff like 24wh or 12 IB 12 AM is because they are bored of farming pugs using "golden standard" compositions. it's not really being imaginative or creative. it's more like finding ways to self nerf by playing goofy things to make the game more challenging because your party's individual skill is 100x that of the people you are routinely playing against.

you'll notice that whenever they play real content, like when they played 24v24 org cities in the past or when their members join the ongoing 12v12 and 18v18 inhouse matches happening lately, they are going to play "meta slave golden standard". same goes for all strong guilds and teams. it turns out that when you fight people who actually hit back you have to play the game properly.

All those aSW having def sov parts in their backpacks should be arested for meta violation!

Keep in mind that with the new itemization rules that were announced recently, Armor in set Bonuses will be significantly adjusted.

SW/SH offSov set that gives 367 Armor will "cost" 92 Stat points with the new system while the Set Bonuses for it will only have a capacity of 79 stat points.
Therefore it will go down to 316 armor most likely. And the only reason why this set is being used by aSWs in smallscale content is because the armor gain is doubled. Otherwise it would not even be considered.

So effectively it's not the defensive set itself that is "totally OP" (as the original poster calls it) but it's the spec itself that enables the gear to shine.
