This is just part of the cycle of scenario matchmaking!


Step 1 - Unbalanced SCs resulting in heavy 1-sided fights

Step 2 - Community complains about lack of balance

Step 3 - Devs explain that if you want better matchmaking, you're gonna have less pops. Are u really sure?!?!?

Step 4 - Community demands new matchmaking, saying they'd rather wait a long time and have a good fight

Step 5 - New matchmaking results in better balance, but far less pops

Step 6 - Community complains about lack of scenarios popping until devs remove matchmaking again


And the cycle repeats. Theres simply no way to have good matchmaking and fast pops without a massive community.

Unfortunately we experienced the same issues when signing on with group.

The solo que seems to work fine. Ofc it can take some time until enough people show up to fullfill the matchmaker requirements, but it seems to work. But as more people we have in the group, as worse it becomes. Sharing here my subjective experience with group que:

2 people: we dont bother with the group que, just que solo and get the same SC pop. solo que works fine.
3 people in group: feels like you still get recognized by the matchmaker. Best group que experience is with 3 people in group
4 people in group: still feels ok, maybe the SCs pop slower than with 3man, but still going to happen.
5-6 people in group: Worst expereince. We spent whole evenings without a single pop.

Before, you had the best pops with a 6man group que, cause you were able to open up a fresh SC-instance on your own with your queue. Now it feels like it is the worst thing you can do. I dont know how the new system is working in case of group ques. Maybe the matchmaker is looking for another 6man, that you can encounter only with 6man? 3man vs 3man? 4vs4? I dont know. But i agree, that it feels like the content is dead since the new system implemented. For groups at least it feels very broken. It would be interesting how this matchmaking works in case of group ques. For me it feels like groups are geting disadvantaged by the matchmaker. If this is true, it will lead to a solo que by "groups" with 6man. They will find a way to play.

Honestly, this is a gamebreaking aspect for me. We play smallscale only, wich is hard enough these days when you only encounter warbands. During EU primetime, when we have 2 empty zones and one blob circus zone, its more or less unplayable for smallscale groups. But this was the best time for scenarios, especialy with a full 6man group. Now since there are barely any pops, i had 2 evenings allready, when i decided to log out instead of playing WAR. Cause the game was just not playable in RvR, and SC pops didnt happen. And if this will go on, its the begining of the end for me. Smallscale is the bigest fun part of the game, and if this content is geting erased more and more, i will have no reason to play the game anymore.

It's difficult if someone quits the game because of sc pops.
We knew that the new matchmaking would cause this. I think it's a good change.
Unfortunately, as a 6man, you probably have to wait for another 6man on the other side.
But it's better than farming pugs without a healer and tank as a 6man.

Ive tried 6 man t3 only once. We stayed at queu for an hour and disbanded but again i had the feeling the system bugged out. We started with 4 man and were inviting ppl along the way and that prolly messed up the queu system.
Frankly i dont know what are the rules for premades. If there is no opponents premade you wont get pop at all?
