5 weeks of T4 PUG scenario data

I am an avid scenario player but I have never been in a premade. I decided to record my wins and losses over 5 weeks. I have 2 order characters (RP and WP) and 1 destro character (Shaman) and they are all heal spec. Most of my scenario play was during the weekend events. My strategy to complete the events was to give up and switch to the other faction if I got stomped 2-3 times in a row, so my results are biased towards winning since due to the prevalence of premades and the small number of participants wins and losses go in streaks. I only counted scenarios that I joined at the beginning (before the timer started).

Order: 76 wins, 61 losses (55% win rate)

Destro: 74 wins, 30 losses (71% win rate)

Thoughts:
  • My Destro win rate was heavily influenced by two weeks where I went 23-1 and 27-9.
  • I only had one week with a losing win rate (Destro wk 2, going 11-12).
  • A huge amount of the wins and losses were stomps (10x as many kills as the opposing team).
  • The feeling I had most of the time was that I could be naked and weaponless and the result would be the same.
  • It felt crazy how I could be getting stomped on Order, switch to my Destro character and get carried to the easy wins (and vice-versa). If I wasn't able to do this I might very well have given up entirely.
  • Stomps were unfun on both sides, win or lose. Sometimes it was so bad no one's health went below 75% and we might as well be doing a T3 PQ for all the challenge it presented.
I'd be game for gathering more data. Perhaps also recording the amount of wins or losses that were stomps? Any suggestions?

Thanks for providing your pov, even if it is very narrow and confined to the small hours that you play overall.

I could do the same for the times I play - OCE time zone when NA has gone to sleep and EU is just waking up and I can say that destro suffers then... greatly. With Order guilds such as Pax, Retri and Formosa on farm mode.

Do any of those guilds you accuse of 'pug farming' actually run SC's in that time zone? I know ow Ret don't. I don't think I've ever seen Formosa doing SC premades? I'm sure Pax do occasionally, but they are usually running small man groups in the lakes.

You can gather data from killboard, probably with description of desired metrics someone can help you with aggregation, some data already aggregated on maartenson.net.

Devs, probably, already have all the data with deep analysis. Just have to share it. Especially according to a coming matchmaker patch.

For personal experience data - you can make excel doc with columns date, win\lose, isSurrender, isPugMadness, isPremStomp, isPremSweat, overall kills, personal kills, earned crests, earned renown.

I play in pretty much all prime times on the weekends. Sometimes it seemed like Order was dominating all weekend and sometimes it seemed like Destro was dominating all weekend. With switching sides, it really didn't matter who was running premades or how many premades there were because I just switched to the side who had them. If I wasn't willing to do that it would probably be so frustrating that I'd simply quit. Losing is fine. Being stomped is not.
