If it's any consolation, your actual contribution to success in a 12v12 scenario is pretty small. It likely doesn't matter if you screw up as you'll win or lose because of the collective power of your teammates vs. the opponents. It's even more the case in RvR, where you've got 40+ players against 40+ players (or more often, 40+ players vs. the door of the keep). In those situations you could be afk and it wouldn't change the outcome.
A KotBS or Chosen are perfect for contributing in PvP while being a terrible player. You provide passive buff auras, you provide guard (absorb 50% of damage from the person you're guarding), you debuff the opponent's damage, and you're very survivable. You'll also be desired in PvE which you would do in order to gear up.

You're wrong. The AoE stagger + AoE root at the wrong time (usually it IS the wrong time) is a good way to fail your realm and show how stupid you are as a player. Each class with a lot of AoE CC has a potential to ruin its team's efforts. For order, for example, its KotBS and engie. I have a feeling that most people playing those classes (especially engie) are drooling CC spammers.gisborne wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 2:22 am If it's any consolation, your actual contribution to success in a 12v12 scenario is pretty small. Re: Class for someone who hates pvp
When I have been on leveling KotBS and DoK, I seen a ton of KotBS and Chosen in the groups in the RVR menu. Would it be a problem for me to play them with them being so over saturated?gisborne wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 2:22 am If it's any consolation, your actual contribution to success in a 12v12 scenario is pretty small. The classes I rarely see any of are Swordmaster, Magus, With Elf and With Hunter, and not many Archmages.

Re: Class for someone who hates pvp
Ahh thank you! That is great information. When I said not many WH/WE, I mean in groups that are pvping, but I found out not many people like them in their groups.Sever1n wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 10:08 pm Swordmasters not newbie friendly, not many are fans of floatings disk and they in weird spot in meta now, theres ton of wh/we roaming around, and am is prob sqishiest heal ingame that recently received very controversial rework.

That's because KotBS, Dok, Chosen, WP are all the best at their respective roles AND have strong off-spec roles. KotBS/Chosen are "required" in every group, meaning ideally they'd represent 1/6 of the population even though they are 1/12 of the classes. DoK/WP are the best healers, having the best survivability, good healing, and good utility. So you can have 1 KotBS in every group and 2 WP (one heal and one DPS) without being oversaturated.Kinvesu wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 6:56 pmWhen I have been on leveling KotBS and DoK, I seen a ton of KotBS and Chosen in the groups in the RVR menu. I saw in one of your earlier responses you were considering playing dual wield or shield DoK. Be aware those are not the specs that people are suggesting. They are suggesting the chalice DoK, who sits in the back line and spams heals without attacking anything (dual wield is a DPS spec, shield is a very challenging and less effective melee heal spec).

Oh wow, I did not know that. Thank you for that information.
