[WL] RvR build for WB play

Heya,

I'm currently lvling my White Lion and would like to ask what's a good RvR build for wb play? From what I've seen on this forum, there are several builds that people use in various situations.

Like this AoE build (which is mainly used in the city?) https://builder.returnofreckoning.com/c ... ,4258,4280

or these more 1v1 focused builds for SC battles

https://builder.returnofreckoning.com/c ... ,4265,4253
https://builder.returnofreckoning.com/c ... mm=&mt=&t=

I am kinda confused. How viable is the AoE Loner build of the Single-target burst dps build in RvR wb fights? I kinda like the Loner AoE build for pushing/guarding posterns, but I have no idea how viable it is.

Cheers!

I run this pretty much EVERYWHERE but is especially well suited for oRVR warband play:
https://builder.returnofreckoning.com/c ... ,4280,4265

and I've been very happy with it. For wb I feel that I ABSOLUTELY need whirling axe and hack and slash. I'd say 90% of the damage I do in rvr comes from AOEs. Also investing in hack&slash lets you forget a bit about WS and focus on STR and CRIT.

This build have a few perks:
1- If you see that there's too many people around for you lion to stay up you can just swap in Loner + jagged edge instead of Pack Synergy and Flanking
2- If you can actually keep your lion up you'll have a VERY valuable pull that you'll start loving when you get used to use it. Too bad you won't have the lion's speed tactic so you'll probably need to use Charge! but it will help catch up that pesky little healer or sorc that is just about out of your WBs reach.
3- Cull the Weak. You might argue that echoing roar gives you more aoe and an interrupt. I find that in wb play the interrupt is not that valuable and the damage not so great. It could still be a good skill but I like Cull the weak cause it gives you a big burst to finish off the occasional low hp enemy you'll come by.
4- Primal fury when you have the RR for it. DONT use it right away. People will interrupt you when they'll see you spin. What you want to do is wait untill you have immunity and then Fury -> Whirling Axe

I run this for city as well (with loner) though sometimes it's hard to pull off cull the weak and echoing roar might be better. I still like it because sometimes it's just about the burst you needed.
Also use this in SC with pet

I'm looking for a 6man and solo roam build but I cannot find one that I like

That's a nice looking build, thanks. Are you running with Trained to Hunt for bonus dmg or Trained to Threaten for the bonus back/side crit?

It's a bit situational, mostly because I'm not sure what's actually better.

Usually I do something like
-Loner I go with 5% crit
-with pet and a multiple people I run TTH cause the pet's abilities are also aoes and the bonus procs from the lion as well
-If I know the lion is actually hitting single targets I actually use TTK because you get more damage out of your pet (should outshine the buffs you get but I'm not even sure)
