Is bullseye's increasing your chance to crit yourself worth the trade off when pugging in rvr/sc?

At R40 as Skirmish spec yes it is. This is also assuming you are at ~0% chance to be crit or else you will just blow up to Sorcs and the like while pugging.

You kind of blow up to sorcs regardless so it doesn't much matter.

That's what healers are for. I only start to blow up to the computers (people who have NB strings to pretend they're good), and even then if you have good support you'll be fine.

The Bullseye tactic needs decent amount of base crit to be useful, i'd say 20% at least, or it doesn't procc enough. When i'm playing ranged, i don't see any alternative to full glasscannon, the dmg just isn't there otherwise...

That's just untrue. Detaunt and I can live through any single Sorcs rotation and then if they're dumb enough to stand there and try to finish it I can kill them first or just kite away.

Except that it price off DoT ticks (which if pugging you should be BHA + SS on most targets in range until you find a good assist opportunity) and refreshes itself. At 40/40 from one BHA it should proc during its rotation (or you can even Rapid fire to get one going).

So you dot everything for nice fluff dmg, but you won't die to sorcs because you detaunt. Ok got it.

Not what I said at all but ok. In pugs you DoT the front line for heal debuffs; you shouldn't be in range of sorcs unless the sorc or you is really out of position in which case they won't already be DoT'd so you can detaunt and then either get out of range or turn on them and kill them.
