1. I honestly don't know. :x I thought you were the expert here.

2. Well, first of all you have to decide if you are a SnB SM or a 2h SM. While SnB profits from both, the 2h will have to rely on parry alone. And as block and parry both only work against Targets from the front, it doesn't really matter what you increase.
Or not?

3. Yes. From what I saw it does.

1. Is harder to test than you think ;)

2. I meant SnB ofc. And regarding the 2nd question I worded it wrongly. What I meant is: Does stacking your defense that is naturally higher even more result in more attacks being defended (prime example of "min-maxing") than increasing a different defense (block) which is an example of "leveling" your defenses (in this case block and parry serve the same purpose negating guard damage and frontal melee damage).

Thanks for answering 3.

Well, as These are pure percentage values and not bound to flat stats, it really is just blant chance. Therefore it shouldn't matter mathematically. 10% are 10%.

Except it is not. It depends where your percentages come from. RR/tactic/ability/stat. They behave differently in the new strikethrough calculation method afaik. 10% is not 10% anymore :)

So there is a difference in 10% more in parry OR 10% more in block? Because I thought it still all flows into the same equation.

Spoiler:
Block is worth more since you can block spells/arrows. Or am I totally lost here?
Edit. Ignore post

What part about only taking into consideration of Melee Frontal damage and guard damage did you not understand?

block is more valuable now imo.
they use different formula than new parry one.
just guess but i think block is less affected by attack stats.
if i was SnB, i would go full block. then rest to parry.

I haven't quite looked at the new formulas in detail, but even if there is a difference in effectiveness between +10% Parry and +10% Block, one would imagine that the difference would be fairly marginal.

If you want to min/max in a melee context, that marginal difference would matter, but as we all know block also stops ranged attacks so I can't see how a hypothetically small benefit may outweigh this.

Unless I am missing the point and am wrong, which my darling wife reminds me I am only too often.

Without knowing block formula under new system you will anyways have more "free" base parry from your ws under new system, so stacking block would give the most effect (in addition to working vs any attack)
