[IB] Noob IB need help

hi everyone! after some months of pause due to RL i returned to play and i'm currently playing my IB (r40, rr47). i never played as tank before so i have some questions and i would like to hear from you some suggestions about build, gear and rp.
my main questions are:

1) how should i spend my rp? as a dps or healer i was used to take 3 step of FS, but as a tank should i focus more on avoidance (reflexes, deft defender)?
2) i play mainly sc/small scale, should i use SnB until i reach higher rr or is 2H viable even on low rr?
3) i would like to play with 2H weaps since i think that even tank should contribute on bringing down target, is 2h Ib viable? if yes, can u suggest me some builds(with rp, gear, talis and so on)
4) is Ancestral Inheritance any good? i'm annhi/conq and i'm already 4k armor, does it have sense to slot more
5) how much tough is enough? i'm at 600 and i usually play with Kotbs so i usually have 720 tough

basically any advice u can give to a noob ib is welcom

I am looking to start up an Iron Breaker for my first order character since the game shut down. I have the same questions as you do.

i had already read the guide but i still have doubt. i would add that the link to IB builds in the guide are broken and they should be updated.

after playing my IB this are my conclusion:
1) i'm actually playing SnB and i spent my rp to cap avoidance (full parry/dodge/disrupt/block) and i spent my remaining point in FS. i think to be quite tanky and i never felt too squishy. i often have dedicated healer and no one complained about me beeing squishy so i think it's ok to not have 0% chance to be critted. oonce i will go 2H i will take to 0 ma chance to be critted with the point i'm actually spending in block.
2)i stil dont know if 2h IB is viable at low rr, but now it doesnt matter since i'm not low rr anymore
3) as SnB tank i'm actually using this build:
RoR.builders - Ironbreaker
but once i will go 2h i think to use this
RoR.builders - Ironbreaker
i can't decide about the 4th tactic slot. the ppl i play with keep telling me to use Ancestra Inheritance with the 2h but they can't explain me why it is so important. imh sweet revange, seen it all befeore, stoutness of stone and rising anger all look more usefull than AI. if anyone want to give his opinion about the build and AI i would relly love it.
4)i think that AI is usefull only against melee-heavy wb. in sc/small scale mobility/dps seems much more valuable then tankiness, again if anyone want to argua about this point i would be very glad
5) i'm actually near 600str, 600tough (with rugged but without pots) and 4k armor and i think to do my job quite well

Renown points go to avoidances and anti-crit. Prioritize high block and parry as that is what saves you from guard damage. Mind you I am a full defensive tank.

I run a toughess pot at rr 70 to stay near 850 toughness and through conq gear and talis I have 925 wounds. I would recommend taking shield mastery so that you can maximize block. At high rr take GnM for pug play and switch it for crit buff in left tree during organized play as you will have reliable heals and hopefully a dps that will make the best of crit buff.

Hello,
I would like to use this thread to raise my own questions about IB. I play mostly small scale in grp 2-2-2 in orvr usually against higher numbers of enemies and often end up in 6vsWB fights. Ofcourse we do not expect to wipe a WB, but usually we manage to get quite a lot of kills if we manage to kite well before we die.
Anyway, I recently speced into SnB as I felt very squishy with 2h weapon. I currently have access to 7/8 bloodlord armor full blood soon, all sentinel, full vanq, full invader.
I was running with bloodlord weapon sitting around 4k armour and around 400thoughnes only due to bloodlord weapon debuff. I had around 45 parry chance with great axe mastery tactic, but I felt way too squishy. Dmg was absolutelly insane, but I felt that dmg is not what our team really needed as we have max geared WH which Im guarding and very well geared WL. I had all talismans str and weapon skills though sitting at very high str around 650 unbuffed and weapon skill around 600 unbuffed. I did not wanted to slot armour and thoughness since I would be loosing 10 percent of tali and RR effectivness due to bloodlord weapon debuff.
That is why I specced now back to SnB with full block, parry, disrupt and 0 chance to be crit. I have soon access to epic scenario 2h weapon and I still want to make my 2h build working in this grp. Atm I just feel like Im just buff bot for my WH and rest of party + debuffing targets with armor debuff healers with outgoing healing debuff punting tanks awaybetc. I mean i kind of like it, but I still have feeling that full deffensive SnB IN in small scale is just overkill and maybe more deffensive than actually needed.

I do not know what gear, weapon talismans and 2h build would make me tanky enough to not be neccesarily healed by direct heals and outlast my guarded target while having 2h weapon and somehow decent dmg.

Does any 2h IB here can share his oppinilns on this? I dont mind playing buff/debuff and guard bot role in our grp. I just wonder if there is tanky enoug 2h build with enough tankiness and still some dmg. What gear sets, weapons, talisman and RR possibly tactics should I run with as 2h IB playing in 2-2-2 party doing mistly small scale?
Thanks a lot in advance to everyone sharing his thoughts.

Ask Volgograd. Back in the days 2H IB had enough damage and survivability to fight 1vX and win. I dont know how 2H IB stands now when Bloodlord, Warlord and sovereign armor were introduced which means higher stats and armor for IB and for enemy.

If you want to be tankier as 2h stack armour and resists. Bloodlord Weapon is great for damage but it knocks a lot of armour off.

Playing around with the SC weapon in bloodlord/invader mix and the winds impervious (3pc bloodlord, 3pc invader, 2pc Imperator) I'm at 4.5k unbuffed armour 660 resists across the board. Fully buffed (WP buff, resist buff, armour buff - pot or guarded doens't matter) I'm at:

5.4k armour, 1k resists, 770 str 520 ws, 9.8k wounds,574 toughness. Stacking up some active mitigation on top of that from parry or Oathbound puts parry high enough for small scale mitigation at 63%.

Though, Watch an' Learn doesn't have an ICD. Using Grudge-Borne-Fury means you can give your Oathfriend 120 AP in the 3s channel which is massive for high DPS AP hungry classes.
