A realistic estimate on the pros and cons of playing a DPS RP:

Pros:
- You can play as a dwarf

Cons:
- Everything else

RoR.builders - Solo Runepriest

I use Oath rune of Iron for extra Initiative and the dot (the willpower is usefull too).

Sundered motion slow can be applied even though the knockback immunity is still up.

I put my renown points in the defence

Thx for the build, I never really considered the Sundered Motion Tactic - will think about it.

Let's ask devs to increase Divine Fury's additional damage from current 25% to 30-35% for Z/RP, and our life will be slightly better :)

That's a half-assed ban-aid solution at best. The DPS RPs issue has always been the fact that they're going through full resistances and have very limited group utility when under a rune of breaking.

Yes, solo-play and small ganking groups are probably the best scenario for a runepriest, where resistances and the long cooldown on his abilities are not so important as his great survivability.

I always believed RP to be heavily heal-focused class and was quite surprised to found out they have so many damage-oriented abilities in their mastery trees.
Some abilities and tactics even suggest that RP should be played in a "hybrid" way - using both healing and dps abilities at once. Rune of Breaking further supports it by giving an option to quickly switch all your stats from healing to dps and back.

But after playing my T1 RP i feel that 20s cooldown on Rune of Breaking is way too long.
I think reducing its cooldown down to 10 or 5 seconds will help the dps RP to be more viable and valuable.
