Crit bonus is key, and strength is the secondary. However, for a different opinion, I would caution you to not neglect your defensive stats. Negating your chance to be crit is the defensive stat I focus on over the others, because you ultimately have elixir of cauldron and/or confusing movements M1 to handle disrupt/dodge.
You'll notice a difference in your survivability if you can get to 0% chance to be crit, even at the expense of the soft cap strength. 900+ strength with 25+ crit is good, you're not going to be useless if you're not hitting the soft cap.
Note, you should really try to ALWAYS be using a strength potion, and include that in your final number. Ask your guild or level up an apothecary to get strength potions (and armor potions).
