I did it with pve gear.

Breath of bubebolos main hand + threat shield from BB. Wounds talismans.

Better option for 500 war tokens is Smuggler shield with 2% block. I upgraded to this after a run or 2.

helm sentinel
shoulders ruin
chest sentinel
gloves ruin
belt sentinel
boots sentinel
back there's a +% block back you can get

jewels gunbad diamond 2% block, genesis 3% block, sentinel with 6% soulstone block, mark of the bulwark 2% block.

Get your wounds to 1k, block and parry 30%+ each, armor as close to 4k as you can get, 0% chance to be crit. Use potions for armor and liniment to fill in gaps.

Another option is ruin and redeye to get a armor set bonus, but I liked ruin sentinel better.

For pvp gear I think it's vanq.

You can check the Intro section of the Blissful Darkpromise Chosen section in our warband guide (link in my signature).

The armor requirement listed is not that stict but, if you do follow it, you basically can mess up mechanically a lot more frequently as a maintank without resulting in a party-wipe (which also translates in more successful/stress-free pug LV runs).

Most important : always <0% chance to be crit (just reach negative) and 8k+ wounds (10k+ for main tank)

offtank : go 2h full glass cannon dps (bloodlord). Sadly, most pug won't take a dps tank

mt : SnB 3 redeye is great (belt+2more) then full bloodlord/vainq/any gear for max armor/wounds
RoR.builders - Chosen
If you don't need Flawless armor tactic, Destined for Victory or Backlash
SnB mandatory for low geared chosen
Save m4 when you can ; m2 if you need to survive and prepare some heal potions

I would suggest changing the wording then: I always had the impression that those stats were almost mandatory (esp. after pugging LV with my WE and seeing so many exotic "tank" equipments which led me to 3+ hours runs on multiple occasions).

This comes from someone who could build a cult around your guide, as if it was a Bible (it was the first guide I've read when starting on RoR some months ago).

I was planning to test if the AP regen from Power from the Gods affects also group mates, since for personal uses I've found it not necessary (at least in group PvE) but I guess i'll ask you: does it? Any specific reason why you run it?
So far, on my close to rr50 chosen (who will pug LV as soon as I reach rr60 and complete my onslaught set) I've used the tactics you suggest, but Destined for Victory in place of Power from the Gods for the above mentioned reason. I'll be happy to try new tactics if they make a difference.
