[Choppa] Is Choppa Really that difficult?

Over the years the golden rule of thumb was only play Choppa or Slayer if you have a duo person to perma guard.

Is it really that hard to play at max level without it? I seem to be doing just fine in pug SCs while leveling. Obviously you have healers and tanks in SCs so that limits the issue some, so I guess my question would be do they have alot of issues in open World RvR and sieges without someone to guard or pocket heal them?

It isn't "hard" to play, no - almost none of the careers are hard to play in RoR at a decent level, especially in Open RvR.

It's more that you will simply die fast all the time without proper support, especially if you are attempting to perform as best as possible as a Choppa or a Slayer.

With that said, this is a group-oriented game, so that shouldn't stop you, instead it should even encourage you to find others to play with.

Good Luck mate!

Leveling out choppa/slayer in pug environment as solo is worst possible experience this game has to offer. Ive got both at rr80 and believe me i tried to pug my way in odd off hours few times but then i made an oath to myself that i never log nor choppa nor slayer if i dont have folks to play with. Its that bad.

Do an experiment, spend your time actively looking for 6men, spam official discord, in-game, whatever. Get yourself a proper comp with chosen+bg/bo+zealot+sham/dok+any other melee dps (mara/we/msh/choppa) or kotbs+ib/sm+runnie+wp/am+any other melee dps (wl/wh/asw/slayer). Doesnt matter skills, discord, rr, gear, just at least assist each other and do proper builds and buffs. Just form a group once and do some SCs/roaming.

You will never ever want to pug on your choppa/slayer again.

Live War most used to love and would make a ton of alts and Puggin Sc's no matter what your Char was not only doable but everyone did it. Worn Sovereign + Triple Renown Gain when under rr70 + Bolster to lvl 45. RR 100 people are lvl 46 and RR80 are 41. I loved the PvP and Easy access to it + It was Rewarding in game + just to play. I also was organized gameplay and was part of First Eu King Kill and i loved that as well, but still i loved casual pug Scs+Soloing <3

This is what happens when Renown gain is nerfed insane amounts and when kills are not rewarded in Sc's if you kill 2 people solo in Sc you will get under 1k renown... Also it doesnt help when Solo ques get less Pops and Renown in general just because : D RoR doesnt reward anything but zerg, and those who want fast SC farming not actual Good fights and for some insane reason keeps doing "Their bidding"

Am i wrong when even the GCD change which broke the game was because someone didnt like getting timestamped against bw/sorc : D I really hope i am wrong because this would be insane, and im not claiming that the GCD change was actually because of that, but ive heard from 2 people i knew from Live War that might have had some actual info on this and i dunno why they would lie but maybe.

And obviously because we dont have True tier 2-3 which should exist, at least one random t2-3 place that is not related or in the way of campaign, ONE ACTUAL TIER FOR LOWBIES where lvl 40 cant go, has 9 ae cap, 3 tactics not 4 and 50% Heal debuffs uncapped morale dmg etc as well. And if you want you should be able to stay permanently there as r39rr40 max. I would never ding 40 on any char if i could enjoy fair pvp somewhere else than t2-3 Pug scs, and even that is becoming harder.

And when in time there would actually be more people on that Permanent 39rr40 because there are 2-3 tactics on everyone, Gear Difference is non existent compared to now and rr20vsrr80 was always a bad idea

Chopa is very simple, only need PVP game experience, what DPS will retreat, I remember my chopa Afk before playing alone at 11000+kill/700+DIE (NOT 1VS 1)

In Aor I loved Choppa Soloing As rr70 getting 2x Crit procs and killing rr100 in duels etc=) Ty for Worn Sovereign and powerful procs you could survive and truely contribute (not even lotd things needed)

Offtopic pretty much... but cant resists

Actually yes. Pugging, soloing, leveling and lots of stuff has been much better thought out and done on live.

RoR somehow provides mostly suffering for no apparant reasons to any beginners/late starters. Whole this RoR ideology of "suffer until endgame and suffer slowly" has to go asap. Lots of efforts team put into t1 rework, its done fancy and cool, rewards, quests, pointers, guidance. Ok, cool. But thats nowhere near enough, thats efforts put into offshots, aint solving real issues of players retention nor actually ease how bad leveling and gameplay experience in midtier is. Need to buff lower tier sets, need to provide much more renown thru all activities, need to reduce XP rewards from SCs big time or reintroduce -xp scrolls in their previous form (providing info about them thru quests and alarming everywhere that its a good idea to use them). People who now revive t1 are those who knew about this game before and either didnt manage to fully try it out or just didnt spend much time back in a day.

Im absolutely sure this new yt wave will be gone just as any other waves we've had, to retain population their path to endgame should be much more pleasant and quick. I see no problem if people reach full sov and dont know their class

On topic:
On live it was way better to pug as solo on choppa&slayer. Choppa was much easier (and now too to an extent keeping in mind that its most horrible experience) but you could actually play like that and not feel totally worthless
