Free video capture software

Hi there,

I am looking to begin taking footage of my guild's and my own game-play to better us. I was wondering if anyone had advice on free video capture software. I have fraps but don't want to pay 37$ for a service I will not use all the time.

I am not to worried about making the videos just capturing the video through software that will not impede the computer itself.

Thanks for the advice and happy video making.

Hey Ray,

you can try Ezvid. I was using it before i got shadowplay. It works great. Only downside is a small icon on screen capture that show the TM : Recorded with Ezvid.

Unfortunately I have been experiencing, for a long time, problems with the GeForce, so I will try the other options. EzVid will be the first, MSi the second and OBs the third.

AFAIK FRAPS is the best...if you have a separate HDD disk.I used to record on an OLD 80GbHDD.It did pretty well at 50FPS(No drops).Good luck anyway mate.

I have had a copy of fraps since about 2006/2007 and I find it great, great value for money.
