My sound in game has no issues as far as me hearing it, but windows does not recognize it as an app. Therefore, it does not appear in my mixer or register any activity on the desktop sound meter. This affects streaming software not registering the sound and outputting it to the stream. I was helped a while back for a work around although im not quite sure it was the exact same issue then.
Hardware: Ausus Xonar DSX 7.1 (which i highly suspect may be the culprit)
I have tried all the basic fixes as far as:
Exclusivity checks in windows sound option.
disabling all other outputs.
updating windows
removing and reinstalling sound drivers
newest version of bios
tweaking streaming software output option to hell and back, also tried different broadcasting option (dont think its an OBS issue anyways)
Curious if any others have had the same issue and found a fix.
I did notice in my user settings doc that there is a command line for audio : speaker_config="Unknown" while there is no option in the UI for this. Are there manual edits that can be made? I am not sure what option can be placed i tried changing it too "default" "speakers" and "desktop" which did nothing and didn't break the sound so i'm guessing it's a useless/unused line.
I didn't have any issues with sound while streaming 3 months ago
