Yes you can now be a solo range dps on overpopulated side and farm without malus, because if you join a group you will probably get less renown etc. or if you carry a supply box in a group you will get less rr/inf/exp from that as wellNeverever wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 1:05 pm "- Solo kills from solo players are now excluded from the AAO malus."
That killed my appetite for playing on the outnumbered side. Time to join the dominating realm and zerg surf then...
Can't really understand the recent changes on rvr. Feels like you are sabotaging your own work.

Re: Patch Notes 19/08/2020
If you are nearby other DPS you will most likely never get any solo kills. This change affects only solo roamers away from the zerg.agemennon675 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 1:46 pmYes you can now be a solo range dps on overpopulated side and farm without malus, because if you join a group you will probably get less renown etc. or if you carry a supply box in a group you will get less rr/inf/exp from that as wellNeverever wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 1:05 pm "- Solo kills from solo players are now excluded from the AAO malus."

In order for it to count as a solo kill you must be the only player that did damage to that player.

...but can I be healed by pack of solo healers, as long as they don't damage my target?

yup

Re: Patch Notes 19/08/2020
So the way to ignore malus is to run as single DPS and healers doing out of party healing?

Re: Patch Notes 19/08/2020
Started playing yesterday so at that point it would have been a few hours. I switched launching from RoRLauncher to RoRUpdater yesterday & that did the trick, but it's back at it today no matter which exe I use to launch.Akalukz wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 7:20 pmNope, how long since you patched?IronTempleDog wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 4:23 pm Should this hotfix be downloading 172K files? Two hours in and I'm at around 40K. This seems like... a lot.
What happens is this: I launch, it downloads "Manifest" verifies ART files, verifies WORLD files, then begins downloading files. Today it's over 167K, which is down from 172k yesterday so yay, I guess? But if I need those files as an update it's super weird that I could play without them a couple of times yesterday. I'm mystified.

I can assure you it doesn't suck renown wise assuming you heal people who do something and ain't dead weight.
I've three rr80+ healers and another one on the way.

Re: Patch Notes 19/08/2020
Thing is, there was rarely a problem finding players to kill. With the keep respawn changes there is little incentive to defend against a zerg so the new "best" things to do are:Grock wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 1:34 pmI mean, you'd still get shitload of AAO bonus when on outnumbered side, except that with the malus gone for soloers you'll actually find some solo players to kill, instead of getting rolled over by box carrying groupsNeverever wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 1:05 pm "- Solo kills from solo players are now excluded from the AAO malus."

1) Run supply boxes for some contribution before the roll
2) Pick off the "tail end Charlies" of the enemy zerg while they take the mostly undefended keep
All in all it seems to be a perverse incentive to zerg more (where "zerg more" is defined as encourage the side with numbers to have more people drawn to it).
Given that, I have a not-so-sneaky suspicion this change is to discourage supply running by the underdog side while waiting for the enemy zerg to PvD their way to a flip.

I wouldd copy and paste the entire folder to a new directory. Sounds like you may have it placed in the wrong place also check to make sure you don't have read-only on the folders/filesIronTempleDog wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 3:13 pmStarted playing yesterday so at that point it would have been a few hours. make sure folder isn't on desktop or under program files etc. make a new sub folder under your root drive. like c:\ROR or something like that
