According this change is new, you will find merchants (Gunther Eckard / Imzalle Ssath) in starting areas, RvR warcamps and in Capital cities, offering you shields adapted to your level for free.

NOTE - This is expansionary, chalice and books are here to stay for caster heals.

Warrior Priest and Disciple of Khaine Changes

The function of Melee Healing in Warhammer Online has been problematic from the inception for a number of reasons especially as it has the capacity to be a fine "standard" heal caster.

Melee Healing from the front is hampered by and large by damage outputs, you do more damage then you do more healing, which in itself causes more problems as with no separation of effects a DPS hybrid can smash through and cause severe overperformance as we saw with an earlier experiment with AB EX. Buff DPS spec melee healing goes up, buff melee healing DPS goes up and so we are locked into mediocrity in real terms.

So we are attempting to separate out the effects of melee healing from DPS and vice versa, to a degree, with the introduction of Shields for WP and DoK, a concept lifted directly from WARs very early days when resource granting books/chalices hadnt even been considered.

These shields will have a small block rating on them, 20% of their tank counterparts, and will serve as a function for a "ability lock" allowing for the progress and improvement of one playstyle which wont augment and overpower another.

Sounds scary right? What are they messing with now.....

First welcome the return of Divine Strike and Consume Essence, a spammable melee heal attack that some of you may remember for a couple of years on live. It will heal your defensive target and any ALLIES (not just group) within 10ft of them for 100% of the damage caused. This ability will be granted at lvl 6, Divine Assault/Rend Soul has moved back to lvl 8 as they were when these abilities were originally in. Ability is augmented through investment in the Grace and Sacrifice trees and is available to use in any build or weapon configuration.

Sigmar's Radiance and Transfer Essence - These abilities now require a shield in order to use them but apart from that they are unchanged.

Soulfire and Fell Sacrifice are now core but require Great Weapon or Dual Wield in order to use them

At 9 points in Wrath and Torture is a new ability, locked to DPS weapons (2h/DW respectively). Warrior Priests can now tap into Sigmar's Wrath and Disciples will be Drowning in Blood, a clicky ability which increases their armour penetration by 25% for 20s with a 60s cooldown.

At 13 points in Wrath and Torture Hammer of Sigmar and Wracking Agony have been reworked into more functional execute abilities only useable with DPS weaponsets (2h/DW respectively) and require their target to be under 50% of their HPs and will nearly always crit. Abilities do increased damage. Oh and Wracking Agony is now called Execute.

15 points in Wrath and Torture are now back to the morale abilities Avatar of Sigmar and Chant of Pain, In Pursuit and Scent of Blood have been retired. The charges were there as a "attitude bait" to draw more people into full tree investment which it did but it did nothing to resolve any issues with the class.

So, why are we doing this? Well its a way to separate the playstyles without infringing or effecting the core play that people will be used to and enable us to expand and focus on any areas of concern in a way that wont create unholy hybrids or malign builds in order to curtail overperformance.

Warrior Priest and Disciple of Khaine Shield Items

Until itemization for the full flow of shield items can be placed into the drop tables vendors will be placed at the starting area, Warcamps and Capital cities providing a selection of basic, level appropriate shields (and 1h hammers for Warrior Priests as most 1h hammers are geared for healing while Disciples have access to more dps weapons, dont freak, they are not impressive...) for free and an Epic Quest equivalent for gold. If you have spare subjugator items you can trade these at the smuggler for a smuggler version as well.

Re: appearance, Im afraid you only have one asset per class at the moment, unique to RoR courtesy of Yaliskah, more will be coming when he stops being so lazy....

Warrior Priest and Disciple Future

These changes wont fix melee healing overnight but we do hope that they may be a foundation that we can build on, tools can be provided for Grace/Sacrifice trees now and be locked out from Salvation and Wrath should they need to be for example. Several ideas are being kicked around already.

We are aware that WP/Dok melee players suffer from tactic dependency which minimizes choice as they have arguable 3 must have tactics they need to go for to be semi - competitive, this will be getting looked at.

[BAWON SAMNDI EVENT]

- Merchants and related quests have been removed.
- You can still spend your Moot **** currency in cities for a week (Goaf Birdsong).


[Dungeons]

- Added walls once a boss is under combat to prevent players respawn and come back into the fight
- Fixed Morbidae cauldrons mechanics : the cauldrons name match the debuff name so you know which one to use . Don’t cleanse the debuff will also reduce your outgoing damage u til you cleanse it.
- Fixed Barrakus mechanics so the items are necessary to kill him . If you don’t kill him in time he will start enrage .
- Added portals inside warpblade tunnels , so if you respawn on the wrong side of the dungeon you can be ported to the entrance you started .
- Sentinel vendors have been spawned at merchant place.
- Fixed healer sentinel stats and proc.
- Adjusted City Dungeon Bosses
- Fixed some bugs that allowed people to make bosses ignore their mechanics
- Fixed Dungeon Lockout Issue
- Wiped all sentinel gear
- Lockouts should now be properly displayed in Lockouts tab after /rel
- Added command .lockouts that refreshes lockouts if they are missing from the tab
- Corrected the amount of influence needed to obtain the final jewel piece of Sentinel set (we are aiming for 12 full runs)
- Free no wards week is extended by one week - kindly report all weird things you encounter :)

[Scenario]
- 6v6 Scenario rewards brought back to what they were 2 patches back

[Guild]

- Delayed the guild info from being sent until 30 seconds after init. This is an attempt to combat the dreaded guild bug. Worst case when you login your not a part of a guild until the timer runs out.

[RvR]

- Diminishing rations should now properly only apply to defenders.
- Found and corrected an error in the contribution system.
- Added Boxes of Conqueror Emblems and Medallions.

[Class Changes]

Squig Herder
'Sneaky Strike' will no longer stack with other armor sources.


[Quests]

- Unmasking the Enemy: Added a portal that will port you at the waterfall near Shadowblade
- A People Divided: Restored original objectives, thus you will now have to gather Bloodline Jewels for the second part
- The Misguided of Nagarythe: Corrected and reworked the quest line
- Lighting the Way: Whole quest line is now available and corrected
- Destruction of Spirit: Reworked the quest line
- Reversal of Fortune: Whole quest line is now available and corrected
- Worthy of Service: Whole quest line is now available and corrected
- Disenchanting the Stone: Whole quest line has been corrected and reviewed
- Becoming the Unseen: Whole quest line is now available and corrected

[Tickets]

Please while doing these it you have to touch chalice DO NOT remove existing chalice or stats:

-Give em block
-change their appereance

So to leave the transition less painfull as possible. For exemple the unique in game emp/chaos chalice /book witch provide resistence.

There is no "transition", chalice and books are going nowhere and remain caster heal tools. Shield are additional and for MELEE healing.
