Errors and failure to lauch

I'm making this post on the behalf of a friend, every time he tries to launch the game he gets this message:

Remove the write protection of all files and subdirectories for the game

Right click the game folder file -> Properties -> Un-tick the "Read only+ option -> Press apply -> Ok on the next message (for applying on the sub-folders).

didn't work for me.
edit: worked with firewall whitelist and a restart.
