xpander wrote: Fri Apr 02, 2021 12:08 pm you need to install directx9 to fix that
in lutris you should be able to use winetricks and install d3dx9_34 that is needed to render correctly
Direct 3D9 or DXVK as D3D9.
doesn't matter im not talking about d3d9.dll which is the one DXVK replaces
you need the d3dx9_34.dll for this game with DXVK or with wined3d
I wanted to point it is Direct 3D and not DirectX which is something else.

For me the game work without overriding that DLL.

its confusing to understand what the discussion really was.
installing directx9 will install all the directx files including the d3d9x_34.dll that is needed for this game.

The game works without DXVK when you install dotnet40 (for launcher) and d3dx9_34 for the game to render correctly.

With DXVK you need to override the d3d9.dll (32bit one from DXVK) and then additionally install d3dx9_34 (it might work without it now too but, last time i tested this was still needed)

Installing directx9 will also install other repos that are not needed and most of the times is not wanted.

Anyway.

If you want to link repos for vkbasalt, I have vkbasalt in my repo for arch.
Also you could link winenine-standalone as an option instead of using vulkan to use native Direct 3D on cards that support galium.

vkbasalt is in AUR, so its not a big problem for Arch Users to begin with. Other distros have more trouble with it.

about wine nine, people can write lutris installers themselves if they want to do that and submit them. I have no personal use for wine nine and i also dont use lutris myself. i just helped to make the main warhammer installation script for people to get the game running.

Glad you wrote on your original post you need gnutls (32 and 64 bits) libraries, I re-installed my distro (Arch gonna Arch) and it was getting on my nerves that red and yellow server/login status. Thank you!

Help Please!!!!

I am not a Linux wizard. I followed the installation instructions and downloaded it with Lutris, it shows up on Lutris and the patcher downloaded all the updates, however when I hit the connect button on the launcher nothing happens. The launcher is showing both blocks green.

Tell me your GPU driver? if its intel ingegrated, most likely its because your GPU isn't capable of using vulkan (DXVK) well enough. First post has troubleshooting steps for that.

Open wine configuration in lutris:

and remove dxgi and d3d9 from that list: do not remove anything else. specially d3dx9_34

Wow, Xpander, thanks for the quick reply.
I'm running:
-Linux Mint 20.1 Cinnamon
-AMD Phenom(tm) II N660 Dual-Core Processor x2
-4 GB DDR3
-500 GB SSD
-AMD/ATI RS880M

I removed the dxgi and d3d9 and it still just stays on the launcher screen.

Ok enable output loggin in lutris then.

right click on RoR and configure:

enable output logging, or change it to inherit from system, and then try to run again. should throw some errors.
My bet is that its something to do with your GPU drivers though.

edit: if you can hop into the RoR discord, it would be faster. I could also try to teamviewer into your system to try to see whats wrong if thats not a problem for you ofc
