Launcher for Mac

ok i figured out what the problem is with showing server offline.. it seems wine cant ICMP ping

err:winediag:IcmpCreateFile Failed to use ICMP (network ping), this requires special permissions

on linux i can ping fine without root permissions but with wine it seems not the case..

is there a way to create a different version of launcher which doest do that pinging?


edit: ohh wait didnt see your previos post...checking now!


Edit2: that stripped down one seems to work! yai! at least it connects..but now getting black screen.. probably need to redownload game..

I don't think redownloading will help.

Do you have the mythloginserviceconfig.xml in the WAR folder? If so...what's the content?

super job and thanks for the launcher.

only 1 minor problem is now that the launcher seems to take huge amount of cpu and running on the backround
as you can see from my conky script thats cropped part of my second screen

edit2: also is it possible to have window decoration on the launcher? so i dont have to start it inside the virtual wine desktop.
without a decoration it doesnt seem to get hooks in normal desktop environment, but only in windows emulated virtual desktop.

if those small issues are sorted out i can make a short tutorial for how to play it under linux or mac..
there are nice programs called PlayOnLinux and PlayOnMac which automate some wine configuration stuff and dont have to recompile patched wine yourself.

I'll see what more I can remove from the Launcher to possibly reduce the CPU load.

Can you be more specific regarding the decorations though? I didn't quite understand what you mean (maybe provide screenshot and point them out)

what i mean by decorations is that native sort of titlebar and border

But It wont show up when i dont use virtual desktop.

or maybe its because wine thinks theres 2 layers of the launcher? 1 is the backround picture and rest is the buttons and stuff like that.. cause when i click on the backround picture it brings it on top of everything, hiding the buttons behind it.

but actually its working now i can play windowed just fine.
