It is worth playing Destro if you enjoy a challenge: nothing has given me more joy recently than coming up against the dreaded WL/MSW comp, cards stacked against your healers; it's a real challenge to overcome, and you have to be playing at 110%.

in 6v6, has destro tried a kind of "meat grinder strategy" to counter pounce. You have 2 tanks, a tanky magus/choppa/mara and shammies for group heals. You stay as a small compact unit, and pull in everyone you can. That seems the destro meta, and would interested to know why it is not feasible (sure a BW might cause a bit of havoc to that group but it seems natural counter for WL/mSW pounce combo who'd die in seconds in range of a choppa and tanky magus).

DPS is too low in this setup against a Liandel/Lednail like premade. (destro tears from live)

If I had to put a 6-men together to try your meat grinder
1 tank + Magus full off tank specced for the rift/pull
mdps aoe Sorc (Mez level gameplay) + Choppa (whatever aoe) -> Marauder stays home
Double Dok for heals

Every destro setup must have a marauder. It is the best class in the game. Utility, survivability and damage -- everything in one class. It basically kills any diversity but that's what you get when something has the best armor debuff, dps and burst potential and on top of it high survivability from Mostro mutation and HD tactic.

Standard Savagery/Brutality spec played by someone like Inikah (Simtex) will open your eyes to what Daniel is talking about. Just a shame that for every top Mara, there are 300 Monstrousity marauders spamming AoE against a single healer.

Huge armor debuff - check.
Wounds debuff if there is no BG - check.
HD that also gives you sustain - check.
Damage steroids and Guillotine for burst - check.
Switch to Monstro when under focus and ignore armour pen - check.
You can also pull people from your teammates to prevent hard focus.
And you still have a free point so you can get a skill or a stat tactic.

The only thing mara doesn't have is a melee KD.
