An unneccessary nerf to dok and warrior priest who are already lacking a core mechanic other than just using soul essence as an a different colored action point pool.

There was no real reason to do this nerf because dok's lack MANY survivability tools that other healers have access to.

Doks only have 5 heals, pillage essence/lash/blood to act as AP pumps, a 60s cd absorb, cleanse and detaunt. Then they have a little choice of tactics, typically 160 willpower, aoe detaunt, then 3rd and 4th AP/cleanse OR essence pump/or other depending on group size and needs.

To nerf any one of these core chalice abilities is utterly unneccessary. Any changes should reflect making the class more interesting and not merely weaker for the sake of some "mirroring" of archetypes and classes that doesn't even make sense to begin with.

It was much more enjoyable to play dok when you can aoe detaunt, now it just relies entirely on being carried by either a tank or 2nd healer because the only alternative to detaunting or those things is focus mind + flee to run away because you WILL die under proper pressure as dok (regardless of what some mediocre dps believe about their supposed invulnerability).

More indepth explanation is written on the balance proposal that also says to revert the change https://www.returnofreckoning.com/forum ... 95&t=45337

Do you have some tools in mind for other healers ? To me, I only see AM/Shaman (AoE detaunt on CD, AoE snare, detaunt tactic) with more survivability tools then DoK/WP. Zealot/RP are the one lacking survivability tools (3mn CD on damage reducer, no aoe detaunt).

DoK/WP have access to a tactic that proc an absorb on themself on crit heal. Playing with this instead of the willpower one will increase their survivability.

Also, in the meta, healers are stacking armor or wounds. With a full sovereign WP/DoK, with 9 * 136 armor talismans and a +660 armor potion you can have 4724 armor (based on wiki). Look pretty solid to me.

And finally, survivability is based on context. How many people is attacking the DoK/WP ? How many debuffs does he have ? What gears does he have ? What is the game mode (oRvR, SC, City) ?

I run Divine Warding tactic (abosrb shield on heal crit) and Leading the Prayer and the survivability is stellar. The 15 seconds AOE detaunt would be a bit OP.

5s duration is long enough for your tank to cross guard you.

Well considering DoK/WP are considered to be the most survivable of the healers (not taking into account Shammy kite masters), then what are you willing to give up in other areas of effectiveness to gain this survivability?

Or should other classes get nerfed to make yours relatively better?

Balancing is a zero-sum game you know.
