Switching between emblems and medalions

Hello there,

I'd like to start a discussion on gear restrictions according to the type of PvP you're playing: emblems and medalions. At the moment playing one type of PvP e.g. Scenarios we're only able to get gear for one specific spec. So if you're running a lot of scenarios because that's the activity type you're enjoying as e.g. Warrior Priest you will never get the healer gear beside weapons. Does it even make sense? Why can't we simply let people play the way they want by simply:
1) Enable trading emblems for medalions and the other way around
OR
2) Allow buying all gear sets by both currencies.

I'm not a veteran of RoR so please let me know if there're flows in my understanding but isn't the current system simply coarse and unfriendly? Why not changing it that case?

Its hard to answer this question as a player, its very odd that main spec gear is from open world pvp, off spec is from scenarios, than RvR sounds like the main game right ? Answer is No. Because end game gear also comes from a scenario(city). I would love to see merged currency system where you get everything by doing any kind of pvp(since its a pvp focused game) you like as long as they all require the same amount of time but thats just an opinion others might not agree with

Current system works around grind, it's ok for mmo. I see one problem with current system - at start 40 you have three activity types and at the end only one.

I'm not afraid or against grinding. I just would like for players to have more freedom in choosing their activities. Current restrictions are just heartbreaking if you have to do ONLY specific PvP activities in order to get full set of your gear for your main specialisation.

each aspect of the game bring some kind of rewards, if you want the RvR reward must play RvR. same if you want a dungeon set, you must run the dungeon...dont expect to get the reward for one content you didnt played.

Separate activities for overall progression is a common f2p mobile game experience. Here we have part of it. At least you can skip part of "not so fun" progression. But, at the end, you can choose only between go to the city and go away from idea to get end game gear.

Sounds good, and this would help new players to. And perhaps get a few Dps AM & Shamans to go healer. I play a Dps AM sometimes and I like to play SC on that char and if there are no healers I do specc healer sometimes so perhaps a few other would do that to if it was easyer to get healgear.

This would cause people to grind the easiest path and neglect the other areas. For example, spamming dungeons to get vanquisher gear would be lame when normally it takes so long of a commitment to oRvR. I like the system the way it is currently.

Selecting the right solution is up to developers. It might not be a fair trade between medalions and emblems but e.g. for only 50% of their value. Also getting the latest end-game equipment might be restricted and not achieved that way but would it harm anyone up to 40 or even a bit higher RR?

Still no on this often repeated suggestion. Content rewards are from content completed.
