I'll be brief

So once you get to level 80, what more progression can you do besides getting appearances and what other set I haven't gotten just for the sake of it.

Could be possible to allow more renown points +80???

Gettin appearance? Apart from some crappy dye you get absolutely nothing not even a skill point and thats really sad.

I'd rather get cosmetics, as they don't mess with balance.

Exactly, no need to make 80+ sov folks even stronger. Get your bis gear if you haven't yet and than enjoy a new game mode:

Playing the game the way that's the most fun to you without the need to run after renown or gear. Enjoy your freedom

Have you considered playing the game for fun?

So 20 more renown points to survive OP WL, you say?

Direct progress is probably a bad idea, but other games have alternative forms of progress once you hit max lvl.

Why not a mastery point at rr 80 , 90, 100 ?

Could be a good idea

Considering the amount of renown you need to progress from 80 to 90, having 1 extra point as a reward would be awesome.

Renown and Gearcap are a good thing, lets not make it another ArcheAge or BDO
