Upcoming Event Merchant Thoughts

Edit: Point a bit moot now that someone in disc said these hats will be purchasable without having the renown requirement, this was made in assumption you cant purchase renown restricted items like the RR dyes and cosmetic

Writing this hours before the event is to go live (Seas of Slaughter) and I ran to the feast hall in inevitable city to look at the pirate hat merchant and see if the updated hats were added. This merchant has been in the game chilling all-year round in that feast hall, tantalizing with hats, for a coin you cant get anywhere other than event. The merchant is since removed (most likely to update wares and prepare for event).

My first thought at the merchant being removed for prep, is that this probably means its going to be lumped into the other event merchants, where they sit around in a spot during the event, last 5 or so days after, then shelved until next time the event rolls around.

My preemptive feedback (although might be seen as bit quick), especially since some newer rr85 hats were added that some players weren't prepared for; [[keeping merchant up all year]] just provides incentive to farm the event on all toons, even low RR ones, and try to reach that peak RR cause you know you got something waiting for you. Similar to the rr85 faces that we have available to us, just even more exclusive cause it needs a special coin.

Now I love the idea of these new lower RR hats being added, however, I'd love even more if I could save my coin on my RR 82 or 83, or even 70s to get that RR85 pirate tricorne. Sure I could save that coin for next year, but its just a single coin, not like other events where you are loaded with tons of small ingredients. Not only that, but these hats arent tradeable or obtainable through any other method, so there isnt as much of an effect on the market having this hat merchant stay up, the coin wont be obtainable after event anyways, nor the quest tubes providing event credit.
