I'd like to provide some feedback on the 2H tanking role and suggest reverting the cooldowns on the Swordmaster's Wall of Darting Steel (WODS) and the Black Orc's Can't Hit Me.
Here are the key issues with the current design:
- Punishing Interrupts: The 5-second cooldown creates a significant window of vulnerability for frontline tanks in ORvR. Getting interrupted, especially by abilities that can't be avoided with immunities, is overly punishing and makes it difficult to hold the line.
- Contradicts Class Role: The risk of interruption forces a passive playstyle. As a 2H Swordmaster, I find myself having to channel WODS from behind my own melee DPS to ensure it completes. This feels counter-intuitive for a class that is supposed to be leading the charge and tanking on the frontline.
- Balance Discrepancy: The change feels inconsistent for the Black Orc also, with their superior block channel already counterbalanced with reduced movement speed—their cooldown reduction tactic was moved to the Blackguard—a class that already possesses its own channelled block ability.
- High Gear Dependency: The 2H mitigation tanking role is already extremely gear-dependent to be effective in a warband setting. This cooldown adds another significant hurdle to the viability of the spec.
Much appreciated.
