[LTC] tanks

Since the Items update is underway, I’d like to request that the latest LTC tank defense bonus be modified.
Currently, it only affects people within a fairly small radius (including those outside the party).
It should work ONLY on party members, but within a 100-foot radius of the LTC caster, just as it did on the live server.

Please don't tamper with LTC. SnB tanks are already a meme being HTL-bots in warband play. LTC is a tool that makes SnB tanks feel like they actually have an impact. It is also a great tool for organized groups against blobs. Meddling with it to satisfy some small scaler would only add to the enshittification of the game.

As of now there are very few sov-sets where it is advisable to go full in, rather than mix for more stats. If LTC gets nerfed like that, the pile of useless high-end-boni gets even bigger.

If the team feels like there should be an LTC working as suggested above, they could adjust ONLY the onslaught "LTC" to work only within the group but with a range of the requested 100 or even 150 feet.

But please don't **** up warband play like that. It has deteriorated enough over the course of the last one to two years.

What are you talking about?
That’s exactly what boosts the blob—it doesn’t reduce it—when abilities target players outside the party.
In the AoE era (since the introduction of 24 targets) and with the mindless gameplay that mainly benefits WB, I don’t know where you’re getting that conclusion from?
So far, WB/blob is the main beneficiary of the changes, so don’t complain.

LTC worked exactly like that on live and was much better thought out than here. 100 feet and only for your own party.

When playing as a tank, my job is to help my party, not some random people. I’d rather my healers and RDPs get the buff, not others around me.

Plus, this ability was assigned to off-sove, and it should be the same here.
Def sove had RD, and it should be implemented here as well.
The point was to diversify the players so that not everyone used the same thing.
Usually, one tank was in off sove and one in def sove.

I can tell from your reply, that you lack experience with organized warbands. An organized warband typically fights larger numbers via push / pull, where they deliver a quick aoe burst and then pull back with puddles and LTCs to turn again and deliver another burst of damage - rinse and repeat.

In order to do that a warband leader calls and cycles through LTCs. If you limit LTCs to group only, a warband can do this only twice per every 2 mins (assuming all tanks are full sov). This would further hamper a warbands ability to fight outnumbered and blobbing with numbers gets even stronger.

I'm glad I could clarify that for you. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask away.

Btw: The reduction to 9 targets for aoe was tried in the past and made winning through blobbing / numbers even easier - kind of makes sense if you think about it: the less targets you can hit the slower your killtime (for wiping a warband). This gives the advantage to the outnumbering side, as they can simply hit more targets by virtue of having more players and makes it harder for the outnumbered side, as it becomes more difficult to apply pressure to the same 9 players.
